I do, to a certain degree. If your kid is doing stupid things, he/she needs to be spanked.

Of course. I was spanked everyonce in a while when I was a kid, and I never did that bad thing again. Parents need to follow through with their punishments, otherwise kids figure out their parents won't punish them and keep being bad.

No because most people don't use it properly - as in, extreme cases. Some people are just bad parents and instead of learning how to parent properly, they just use threats and fear to get their kids to do what they want them to. Do you think that those kids grow up right? Or would they have a lot of anger issues..?

I'm going to go with the latter.

I don't agree. Parents don't need to beat their child, just give them a quick spanking to learn their lesson. It sure worked on me.

It's lazy. You might have turned out fine (debatable :P) but Isee too many parents using it too often. Their kid wants a Mars Bar in the shopping centre and start to complain a bitonly toget a swift slap over the head. If it is illegal these kind of people can't do it (or at least in public).

There are plenty of other ways of dealing with those kinds of situations, some may(unbelievably) involve a bit of patience.

I believe children should do as they're told. If they're not, then parents should be allowed to givea good smacking.

They are children! They aren't adults and they shouldn't be expected to behave like adults.

No. Its for people who are too lazy to parent. Why do you think they're people with anger problems, thats one of the reasons.

I think everyone who gets spanked as a child becomes a god fearing republican and the rest vote for Hillary.

but they are expected to grow up like adults. and they aren't expected to live for the rest oftheir lives like it's fantasy world.

so in my opinion, a good spanking is nice. too much spanking is a no-no.

i was spanked when i was a kid. and spanking worked. i grew up without any anger issues. and of course, you need to watch it, limit it, etc. and there's a certain age where spanking should stop.

scolding and grounding would be a definite punishment on a kid (11+) or something (imo), since grounding bans them from society - since at this age, people are starting to want to go out. so banning that kid from going out would be a good punishment.

They will learn to be adults, you just have to guide them. Being a kid isn't about learning to become an adult, it's about being a kid! Being a teenager is learning to become an adult. The transformation from kid to teenager happens whether they want it to or not, so let them have their time while they have it.
