That we have evolved from the apes (or share a common ancestor)?
Or do you believe in the existence of Adam and Eve, which were created by sand from the God?
This topic is locked from further discussion.
There is no scientific theory that we "evoluted" from apes. That we have evoluted from the apes?
Or do you believe in the existence of Adam and Eve, which were created by sand from the God?

Yes. The idea that we evolved from apes is a common misunderstanding. It states humans and apes had a common ancestor millions of years ago.Bourbons3
Yup. Homo Sapiens evolved from Homo Erectus, or Homo Neanderthalis I think.
Yes I believe Darwins theory, the only people who don't are those devout zealots brainwashed by religion.Spartan_385Agreed.

FYI....evolution doesn't disprove God. I don't know why so many atheists assume it does.
If you believe in evolution then you don't believe in the fact that God created life.

That's a false conclusion. I believe both.

God could have put the single-celled organisms that then evolved into what we have today. Evolution says nothing about the origin of life.

Yeah, from a Christian perspective. There can be a God up there, just not the Christian one.

And what makes you say not the Christian one?:|

Exactly. The thread point is not discovering where have we come from, but to say in which of the two different human origin statements we believe in.
And once a saint said : "Our admiration for the work of God is not reduced, if we find out the way how one of his miracles works.

The Christian God is credited with creating Adam and Eve. He said if you believe in evolution, you don't believe in a higher entity. That might be true from a Christian perspective, but it doesn't disprove the existence of a God or Gods.

Actually that connects with the Jewish religion.
Yes and even the vast majority of Christians out there do, that the US doesn't just shows how ****ing insane we are.
I believe in some elements of the Darwin Theory, however, there are certain unexplainable things about his theory that I still question.VGobbsesserWhich ones?
I don't really believe that we evolved from apes... it just sounds too fictional, well for my taste at least.ExodusV2
So you believe something just popped out of nothing?

I'm Christian and we believe in evolution. Adam and Eve are symbolic of the first of mankind. Evolution can have occured with God behind it. Evolution doesn't disprove the Christian God at all.:)

And the Bible doesn't necessarily have to be true, or taken for face value. Despite myself being atheist, you can interpret the Bible so it makes more sense.
Y'know, in the remainder of the western world apart from the USA, nobody questions evolution anymore, we all know that it has pretty much been proven by science that life has evolved by the means of natural selection.
yet the question persists in the USA, why?

The US believes in evolution. Don't paint a broad picture of stereotypes.

Judging from Gamespot, not everybody believes in it, and I'm pretty sure that there are a lot of people who don't visit Gamespot and don't believe in Darwin's theory.
This is the country with a mormon as a presidential candiate.

Wow! I'd bet there are those in other countries that don't believe in evolution and because some don't here, you'll generalize an entire country? Leaders in many countries have subscribed to a religion. I find it discriminatory that you would feel one is not qualified for a job due to religious beliefs.
That's against the law by the way, and against the founding nature of this country.:|

humans did not evolve from apes, we share a common ancestor, but that common ancestor was a creature very similar to an ape
yes I do because there is a pretty big amount of evidence to support it, such as the nested hierarchy

Well, there you go. You can verify the article's validity yourself.[QUOTE="btaylor2404"]Evolution. Don't see how people can't believe it.milosbeli

"proof" is not a scientific term. science cannot "prove" anything. it can only disprove things.and if you want some evidence for the theory of evolution, please go here: http://www.talkorigins.org/faqs/comdesc/
