I think there is way too much of these so called "mythological" creatures throughout culture, or every culture as a matter of fact, through thousands of years, to not be real at least in part
thoughts?

i believe so...but the only proof(i use the term lightly) that there werent is that we havn't dug up any skeletons of em yet....either way i still think they existed at one pointpikmin-master
well they had to existed in my opinion. And they must have lived along side humans, considering there are so many depictions of them throught our history. For example, dont u think its a bit odd that the chinese zodiac consists of 12 animals, all of them real but one?
Yes they did, in fact it was documented in Discover Channel.Honenheimyeah I watched that too, it was pretty cool.
I'm sure there were lizard type creatures that were exaturated into beasts of myth, that shoot fire and fly.Wetall_basic
well then, couldnt dinosaurs (a word not invented until the 1800s btw) be the cery thing that could become legend?
Considering their body weight, the couldn't fly in high altitudes like in the movies....so what they did is, they inhaled deeply turning the oxygen into helium (i think i can't remember) and where able to glide for short moments.
When breathing fire, they combined the Oxygen with the propane in their second stomach. (if im wrong please correct me, i saw that documentary last year)

i find it more odd that there were famous dragon slayers who never kept a part of the dragon they slayed as a prize and proof
still dragons are like the coolest mythological creature ever concieved by man.................you know unless that mans name is JRR Tolkien in which case the Balrog has it beat

well like I said before, I think that all the dinosaur skeletons we find are perfect evidence that giant reptiles existed. And be honest, if you saw a 30 foot lizard running near your house, wouldnt you describe it as a dragon?
it is most likely that a long time ago the snakes and lizards we know today could have been great beasts tha could have had wings , but they could have had to adapt for some reason slowly changing them into our lizards and snakes.

Considering it took several million years after the extinction of the dinosaurs that primates even evolved...
do dinosaurs count?
i think i saw something about dragons on the discovery channel. according to the show, most cultures have stories about dragons because its a combination of psychological terrors that exist in humans today because a long time ago when humans were in an earlier phase of evolution we had to watch out for various predators: large birds, large cats, and large reptiles
combine those three together in a nightmare and you've got a dragon
I think there was probably something that could have been similar to a dragon that stories have twisted into something bigger and such. Its hard to say they didnt exist when cultures that had been seperated for thousands of years both have very similar depictions of dragons.lobodob
read my last post. its the last one of the previous page
its the discover channels explanation to why other cultures have dragon stories
[QUOTE="123625"]Could of but i doubt they breathed fire or were immune to magic. Probably a large Lizard of sort, that may have been over emphasized as history went on.gobo212
