I don't believe in luck. I believe in chance. Bad things just happen and good things just happen.
But more than that, I believe that MOST of the things that happen, be they bad or good, are the result of personal choices. "Bad luck" is a very common excuse for ignorant and irresponsible people who fail to learn from their mistakes.
I would say certain people do possess more "luck" than others. I've heard of stories about people hitting multiple jackpots or strings of good things just kept on happening to them. I personally know some people who have more good things happen to them and these folks just seemingly haven't done much (consciously) to attain them. Those are just a small number of us though.
Not really.
But my bad luck generally leaves me with very funny stories, so I can't complain too much.
Nah, my luck is terrible. I'm such an optimistic person though. I don't let it get to me.
Proof that my luck sucks: Yesterday I was biking along a main road at around 20 MPH, and jumped off this jump at the bottom of this hill (It's like a curb, but yeah). Anyway, I jump over it (Like a 5 foot gap) every day, and my front wheel came off in the air (Yes, the rim and tire), and I didn't notice till I was on the ground. Luckily, it there was a red light at the time so a bunch of people saw it (I was more concerned about living than being embarrassed).
Anyway, I hit my head (No helmet), and my arm and shoulder were pretty cut up. My bone was a little visible on my arm. Three cars pulled over. One guy called asked me for my phone number to call my mom, and at this point I couldn't see, but I managed to say it right away. He also had a bandage type thing for my arm. Then the second guy was some type of trainer. I don't remember what kind. He was talking to me, and I got my vision back, and he was moving his finger to see if my eyes could follow, which they did. The third guy, I recognized right away. He was my brother's friend who hasn't seen me in like a year (I look completely different from then). He thought it was me but wasn't sure.
He asked me my name, and when I said, "Kevin" he knew who I was. Then my mom had to take me to the E.R. It was a fun experience. I've never been to the hospital besides being born (I've broken my finger before).
Sorry for the long read, but I'm bored and don't want to go to sleep, so it kept me occupied.
Also, back on topic, when I played WoW, I had the worst luck in the world with getting drops from instances.
Do I consider myself lucky in the sense that God plays dice with the world? No.
Do I consider myself lucky in the sense that I've been blessed beyond what I deserve? Yes.
In other words, "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose" (Romans 8:28 ). Or even more simplified, I believe in fate, not luck.
I hit a buzzer-beating, game-winning shot from beyond halfcourt when I was in 11th grade...lucky indeed..
I think I'm more lucky than unlucky.
In a single day (about 2 months ago) I had a stranger give me $5 to move an air conditioner up one flight of stairs while I was walking down the road. Later that day I found 5 $1 bills on the ground, then a stranger outside of a bar gave me a $1 because I offered her like 50 cents for a cig or something, and she said "now you're closer to a pack". It was an awesome day, although I felt like quite a bum by the end of the night, since I pretty much did no work.
No I'm not lucky at all. If I was I wouldn't be in the mood I'm in now, and going to be in for a long time.
There is no luck, cause and effect. There is chance, but not luck.RushMetallicaLuck is obviously based on a persons perception of whats lucky(good) and unlucky(bad). OP's question was basically just asking if you had a life of good fortune or not. And there's no cause and effect.... ..... :| .... Seriously? I definitely don't agree with that....
i dont really believe in luck as an actual force that makes things happen.
it's simply a concept thought up to explain why events that had a low chance of taking place actually happened
Well since I found a 4 leaf clover I have had nothing but luck, I was a verly unlucky person before then. I always keep my clover with me, in my shirt pocket :D Now excuse my while I jump from the Tower of Big Ben 8)
