Do you believe the Gulf Oil Spill is relevant to Revelation 16:3 ???

I was installing cable today and overheard the customers talking about how the Gulf Oil Spill is a message from god that the end is near and Jesus is about to return. They kept bringing up this Revelation 16:3 verse as how it's, CONFIRMATION of a divine plan coming to fruition

3 The second angel poured out his bowl on the sea, and it turned into blood like that of a dead man, and every living thing in the sea died.

4 The third angel poured out his bowl on the rivers and springs of water, and they became blood. 5Then I heard the angel in charge of the waters say:
- "You are just in these judgments,
- you who are and who were, the Holy One,
- because you have so judged;

Do you believe this a prophetic vision coming true?

well maybe. Obviously all this oil would take forever to be cleaned and will kill many that are in the sea. But im glad someone created a thread about the spill at least. Wouldnt adding pressure to the hole in the ground, cause the ground to buckle possibly creating more problems?Fuhgeddabouditt

for the past 2000 years people have been going "ITS A SIGN THE END OF THE WORLD IS NIGH!"... The gulf oil spill is just as relevant to Revelations 16:3 as a Potato is relevant to Dumbledore dieing in harry potter.

I'm a Christian myself, and even I'm not convinced, simply because Revelation speaks of many more disasters happening before that, which I don't believe has happened yet.

it leaves me wondering.....What about the other past previous spills? Those didnt have a divine apocalyptic meaning to them either?

No, i don't...people are always looking for an excuse to panic about the end of the world..

Everything in the sea isn't going to die from this.

I'm Catholic, so I don't view Revelations the same as Protestants. So, no, it's not the end of the world. The end of the world will not happen because of a rapture or anything.

If it gets bigger, like, really bigger, yes. As it is, no.

Not at all. Most of the time the links between an event and the writings in Revelation are extremely vague.
