I think it depends on the individual, I've heard of people going into a mild trance while their hand is on the planchette, in which case they are likely just more attuned to their subconcious mind. I don't really believe that a spirit is talking through them, but who's to say?

As far as mediums go, I think that a large percentage (even the majority) of them are scams, particularly John Edward. However I will not rule out the possibility of communing with things that are outside of common understanding.

Because they should be flying around, and messing with us by moving things, not trying to talk to us. :)Caddy06_88

I don't think a ouija board by hasbro games can do very much. But a medium that has special capabilities to communicate I believe those exist, but not as many as claim they can.

Well seeing as im the one who has seen ghosts my whole life, and have good friends who had a bad experience with a ouijay board(a real one, not a toysrus one) i think i do know.
