not at all. people still buy music? ;)pygmahia5Yeah, it's weird, eh? Who wants to support artists they enjoy?

If I want to support an artist I'll pay to see them live.

You do realize that there are lots of labels that don't treat their artists like property and actually should be supported?
Of course not, the quality is awful.Neon-Tiger
It's not all that bad is it...? :?
Aren't the songs encoded in some kind of lossless AAC format? I wouldn't know since I've never bought from iTunes, but I remember reading that somewhere...

Most of the bands I listen to are signed, and can barely afford to TOUR.

Few should be spared. The record label is but a parasite. It should be only the music between the artist and the listener.[QUOTE="Neon-Tiger"][QUOTE="-Sniper99-"]Yeah, it's weird, eh? It's not bad it's terrible. iTunes doesn't carry any lossless. Perhaps you're confusing it with the Apple lossless audio codec (ALAC), which is the only way to listen to lossless in an unmodified iPod, but no songs in that format are sold.[QUOTE="Neon-Tiger"][QUOTE="-Sniper99-"] You think that just because you're signed to a record label then you get loads of cash? Yes, the record labels do get a lot of cash, but buying the CD and giving the bands a small amount of profit is better than not buying it at all, right?:| I prefer to leave my money at their gigs.

Less so today with the internet, but a while ago there wasn't really any means for an artist to expose himself to a large audience without a label. Even now, having a label makes a lot of things possible that would be impossible without one.

Although I'm not much of an audiophile (I just recently graduated from listening to 128 mp3's on iPod earphones to 320 mp3's on SkullCandy earphones), that's still one more reason not to buy from iTunes. :P

Why not both? Albums are not as well produced as they were. The loudness war is turning CD's audio quality to crap in the western world. No way they (record labels) are taking my money for poorly produced material.

It makes me cringe too, but if their ears can't tell the difference I suppose it doesn't matter.[QUOTE="sammyjenkis898"][QUOTE="Neon-Tiger"]Skullcandy earphones... :cry:DJ_Lae

It makes me cringe too, but if their ears can't tell the difference I suppose it doesn't matter. I thought my ears were bleeding when I used them. I don't know how anyone could consider that to be exceptional quality. Please Log In to post.
