I'm about to go to work and I was thinking about calling in sick since I have a cold but I decided to go anyway since I need the cash. Do you ever call in sick, and if so, how often?

I miss a day's work at leats ONCE a month. If I miss more then ONE day it's cause I'm really sick or something happened. Missing work these days is tough, they can just fire you and hire someone who will be ther everyday.
I know someone who calls off all the time. He said he can call off 6 times every 3 months without getting in trouble. He only works 3 days a week as is and is broke most of the time. His gf is mine gf's sister so sometime I pay for her to go out cause he can't. Makes me sick.AutoPilotOn
That's true love from your sister-in-law...

[QUOTE="AutoPilotOn"]I never call in sick. The last time I call off was 5 years age and I was in a ditch turned backwards against a telephone pole in my freshly totaled car. I always feel I must show up for work.valium88
That's harsh man. Luckily you survived.
It was a rush my heart was pumping. I had fallen asleep at wheel. First I did when I came to stop was call my boss lolThe last time I called in sick was when I throw my back out, I was in pain for over a week but only took 1 day off. Thank f*ck for STRONG painkillers. I don't like taking time off, I like money too much.
Extremely rare for me. The last time I was really sick was sometime back in high school, about 10 years ago.

If you're really sick then thats it, call in. No sense going in and making everyone else sick spreading germs around.
As for myself I called in sick alot. In my days of working part time as a student they always scheduled me weekend mornings. I called in sick all the time. Come on I'm 19 years old whaddya expect. My manager **** about it I said don't schedule me mornings, let me come in at 12... problem solved.
One place I worked paid salary so you got paid regardless of being there or not. Too many people abused the system so they placed a limit of 6 sick days before they docked your pay.
The last place I worked I was legitimately sick one day and the owner of the company harrassed me. I had a doctor note, and immediately filed claim with the ministry of labour and he was given a warning.
I'm not working right now, but when I did I never called in sick. Ugalde-You ain't working if you're posting here. ;)
I've only called in sick once at my current job since I had a bad stomach ache, other than that, nope.
