No, and its pretty convenient because people that I know that do it tend to get very stressed out come the holiday season and many times they put themselves in debt because they have to buy almost everyone they know a gift. It does help the economy in some ways, so I guess its a good thing (minus the debt that it creates for some Americans).

I'm a muslim cus of my parents had wrote me as in my i.d..but guys I really love Christian World(I love USA too:)) :) So Merry X-mas :) between a few friends all we gave gifts to each other :)
It's supposed to be a time of celebrating the birth of christ and I think the giving is symbolic of that gift from God and maybe the gifts to Christ at his birth. People give each other gifts and sped time with family. Most people don't celebrate it for it's real purpose.
