Do you consider Florida to be the worst state in the U.S.?

Some of the most atrocious events occur in Florida. For example, recently there was the Trayvon Martin Case, a case in which a woman was sentenced to twenty years for merely firing a warning shot to intimidate her abusive husband, the recent case in which Florida police killed a man whom they wrongfully identified as a suspect, and so on and so on. In light of these events, what do you think of Florida? I personally would never go there. It seems to suffer from some serious problems regarding its social sphere and its law system.

The sensationalized stories in the media don't always represent an accurate portrayal of an area. I dont think Florida is that bad.

Hardly, I live in Miami and its honestly one of the best cities. Its really calm in the day and has barely any crime compared to most cities, and at night everyone is partying and really friendly. There are plenty of jobs and a large variety of people. I live in the suburbs here and its extremely calm. I enjoy it this city.

How is Michigan the worst state? It has the most coastal area of any of the states and Northern Michigan is absolutely beautiful. Although the weather can suck at times.

No. I consider places like New York, California and Illinois to be some of the worst states in the US. The best state I've ever been to was North Dakota.

I've been to Florida but as a gateway for a cruise so I didn't get to see the beaches or anything.

It's just the media. I'm pretty sure Florida is a nice state to live in with a bunch of nice people around. And remember all states have stupid and asinine laws that do get sensationalized by the media. They make for popular stories that shake our heads in disgust.
