Do you create your own music?

I take a media production course at college, and I mess about with Soundtrack on the iMacs every now and again. I enjoyed making my own little rhythms to jam to while I was working. Now we're learning to use Cubase, so we can actually create our own music from scratch and I'm really enjoying it (also I'm one of the best guys in the class) :D It's not the same as playing an instrument, but I can learn keyboard later on lol.

Yeah, I create my own music. I play drums and guitar, primarily. I prefer to use mostly real instruments when I play or record...what I mean by "real" is that I prefer to actally play every note I record and prefer to play on acoustic instruments, as opposed to pressing a key down on an arpeggiated synth preset...don't get me wrong, though...I love synths and I love VSTi plugins. There are some really cool sounding VSTi programs out there, with which you can play via midi and make some really great tracks with. I've never used Cubase, but a lot of people say it's a great interface. I mostly use Mackie Tracktion...and sometimes Vegas. Google free VSTi and you should find a ton of cool programs to mess around with, along with Cubase.

yeah I'm in a band, I play an assortment of instruments, mainly guitar, vocals and piano though...bass when my bassist wants a turn at the keysHybridPhoenix

I envy people like you lol. If I had known when I was younger that I was going to have such a big interest in making music as I got older I would've stuck to the guitar and got those piano lessons I was thinking about. I'd like to do vocals but I'm not very confident in my voice. I'm currently trying to improve my growl.

i use fl studio to produce beats that a friend and i rap to we're tryna get a rap album together, its already got a few tracks recorded and stuff

Yeah i make my own music (check it out @ my sig)

im only about 4 months into it, use FL studio 8 (not very user friendly in my opinion, at least for beginners, i dont know how to do much)

and i havn't taken music theory (is it a class? im 16, and i never see it as a class in or out of school. is it a college course?)
