Do you drink alcohol?

I am under age but I don't plan to. I have a lot of alcoholics in my family, weak resistance to alcohol is heredity. I had an uncle who was starting to become a great business man. He was was introduced to alcohol at a business party and now he is a pizza delivery man and a functional alcoholic. It is ideal for me to not even try. :(

If you don't want to try given your family history it then I applaud you. Just make sure you keep that promise you made to yourself. I however do have an odd drink every now and then. I actually have a whole liquor cabinet completely full of full bottles of liquor.

I somehow stopped drinking hard liquor (mixed drinks) but drink beer regularly and maybe a few shots one night a week as well.

Generally no, and I haven't inabout a year and a half. I hate the taste and don't like the idea of being "drunk".

Yeah. I can't take a bubble bath without a glass of wine, and wine is also great to relax while playing a video game, reading a book, or watching a movie. I also couldn't live without a few beers at baseball games. I don't usually drink at parties or bars...to many creeps around.Maddy_K

Don't deal in absolutes, because that makes it so that once you try a sip of wine or something, you may mentally tell yourself that since you broke your oath, you might as well go nuts. I've seen a lot of good friends go bad because of that kind of mindset.

I feel like you misunderstood my original post. I was commenting on two different ideas of drinking, the first being the light drinker, the kind that has a glass of wine while reading or drinksone beer after work to relax. I'll even throw the people that just want a little bit of confidence into this group, anything short of beingactually drunk. My dislike of the taste overcomes the "loosening up" quality of alcohol and so makes that relaxationunlikely for me. I'll just lay back, close my eyes, and breath easy for 2 minutes. Infinitely more relaxing to me. The second idea seems to be the one that is misunderstood. It was a criticism of those people who think you have be drunk in order to enjoy alcohol, the people who would undoubtedly tell me not to worry about the bad taste, and just to drink more.
