I eat sunflower seeds. Does anyone else, and if so favorite brand, flavor, style? I like David,BBQ or Ranch, though I will eat plain if thats all the store has(like when I bought some last night). I get them in the shell, and then put them in my cheek and open them with my teeth and spit out the shell.

Anyone else?

I used to eat them all the time, but had to give them up when I got braces. It was one of those things, along with bubble gum that when I got the braces off, I just lost interest in.

I hear that. I go through phases, but right now its because I am quitting smoking, tobacco prices just doubled again in Massachusettes. Not just packs but roll your owns. As good a time as any and the seeds help.

My dad used to make this delicious pasta dish with sunflower seeds. I know it doesn't sound very appetizing, but it was. I should ask him for the recipe..

How much is a pack of smokes in your area? Supposedly it is going up to $6 something in my area...

Holy crap!

In Cali it's about $4.50 for a pack of Marlboros. Still $2.99 for Pall Malls though (which is what I smoke).

I used to eat them a lot when I played baseball. I don't really eat them anymore unless someone else has them and is offering some up. So...basically I don't go out of my way to eat them, but I do like them. :)

No I dont. I used to when camping with my family when I was younger. I mainly did it because my Dad and brother did it. However I would never crack the shell and eat the seed. I'd just pop them in my mouth, suck the flavor out, and spit it out.

I know how you feel. I live in Ohio and prices just went up here too a few weeks ago. I used to buy lb bags of gambler tobacco for about 25$, now they are 60+, forget that...so I recently decided to quit smoking as well. I'm just over a week from when I went cold turkey and the only thing keeping me sane is my new found addiction to sunflower seeds. So far, I'm pretty partial to the FritoLay BBQ ones, but I've heard very good things about the David Ranch. I plan to try out a couple different kinds today. I get them with the shell and pop a handful at a time into my mouth. From there, they'll soften up as they are wedged into my left cheek and I'll just keep popping them apart with my molars, eat the seed, and slide the empty shell into my right cheek until they are all gone... then it's time to spit the empty shells and reload that ammunition. Keep 'em poppin' son.

I've tasted them before and I didn't think they were anything special. It's one of those foods that I neither love nor hate... it's just... meh.

When I was younger I would eat them non-stop. I haven't had sunflower seeds in a long, long time.
