Do you ever have obsessive compulsions (or 'Wikipedia Syndrome') In knowing everything about a certain topic? Whether that be a music group, or a TV show. Whatever.

What I mean is do you ever feel the need to research everything you can on knowing about something, for example knowing every detail on the Resident Evil storyline, or getting every song your favourite band made (even demo recordings!)

I do (but I'm not going to say what about! :P). Just wondering if anyone else does. It gets frustrating doesn't it

Yes I do when it comes to tv shows and videogames. Sometimes the plot makes more sense to me after I read it.

I do have those periods in time where I'm really interested in a certain topic. Right now, I'm really interested in the French New Wave, which is why I'm watching films and reading about the directors of that time period.

Not exactly, but I do suffer from being very very apprehensive over buying a book before I've read reviews and such about it first. I like to know exactly what I'm getting before I shell out cash. Actually, I'm like that regarding most things I intend to buy. I need to read reviews from customers and the like.

Yeeeaah. I'm never satisfied with a Video Game until I've completed it 100%, and I often read through hundreds of completely unneccesary conversations in a RPG cause I feel I HAVE to talk to everybody.

Yep. Once I find a subject that fascinates me, I have to know EVERYTHING about it. I want to be the most knowledgeable person on that particular issue.

I am currently addicted to learning about the 9/11 conspiracy, and before that I was addicted to learning about WWII Aircrafts.

Not really. I get really confused at plotlines in TV and movies so I just ask a bunch of questions to the nearest person. My mate James has to know how and why about everything though, it gets annoying at times because "it just is" isn't an acceptable answer to him...

If something bad has happened or might happen to me I research all possible outcomes religiously and proceed to scare the living ******* out of myself thinking that the worst of every situation will happen to me.

I would like to know about certain subjects, yes. That's why I picked up a book containing several essays written by Steven A. Gould on Evolution and a book by Carl Sagan, Cosmos.

Not for a specific topic really, but for knowledge in general. I'll look up something on Wikipedia; two hours later the browser will be full of 20 tabs just from Wikipedia. The moment I see something I don't know too much about, i'll click on it and start reading that. There was one time when I got from Enola Gay to the Spice Girls.

Usually when I start listening to a new band or musician, I find that I can enjoy their music more if I know a lot about them, and the album I'm listening to. I can understand it better.

I'm thinking of therapy for it. Its a major problem with me and it tends to absolutely ruin months (if not an entire year) of my life at a time.

If you didn't feel that way, you would be sub-human in my opinion.

i think therapy would probably b the best option, my mom made me go to the doctors today because of depression :\ but that didn't achieve anything
