You know the very top of the bread that on one side is just the crust and the other is the dough.
I rarely use it, to me its useless and doesn't make good toast or a good sandwich.
Do you use the top slice of the bread.

Yeah dude, no point in wasting the stuff. Still tastes the same.D3nnyCranethe texture is different though. and the thickness
Always. The ends are treated very poorly. They see their brothers and sisters be enjoyed and loved , and we ignore them. They want to be loved and want to be enjoyed and we treat them like dirt. The ends need to rise above this tyranny and above this attitude of hate and ignorance. Let those who ignore the ends be treated like end themselves , and then let them realize the errors of their ways and love the ends.dave123321I tend not to form relationships with my food

In all it makes it perfect foe things like butter and nutella.

Wow, you really have to be hard up to gobble the end down dry and plain.I'm usually always starving so it is the first thing that I eat, plain.

What? No. I don't eat it dry and plain, I have a glass of water with it. :|
My mother saves them and makes breadcrumbs with it. XilePrincessNow thats a good old fashioned thrifty mom. :D
that's awful  I love the crust on mah sandwiches. I just don't like one whole side to be crust :oJandurin
Same for me.
I don't but my bf tries to make me *yuck* it is just to dry the qualify as bread, I also get rid of the crust if no one is there to get mad at me.
The end pieces, heal or whatever you want to call them should be left in the bread bag until all the bread is gone, this way the middle part of the bread doesn't get dryed out and crusty. The heals act as a seal or protector of the bread.
The ..heel.. of the bread? nah, i never really use it. I think i've used small shot-glass sized glasses to make a small square and put a cross on it with a spoon to call it Holy Bread when I was little, though.
...I think I was told to post in this thread on the OTcars video chat thing.. :P
Yeah, the heels of the bread. They be tasty DURZGHBURZZ...
-Misanthropic-
I laughed pretty hard at this for some reason...
anyway...
I usually don't eat them, and if I do I eat them last. The ends help to keep the moisture in the bread, and end up kinda stale by the end of the week.
But if it's Saturday morning and I'm hard up for food ingredients, I'll make french toast or something with them.
They're also a really good replacement for breadcrumbs in meatloaf recipes.
