We are all instinctually afraid to die. That is why we have a Survival instinct. You can supress it, ignore it, keep it locked up in a deep dark part of your mind, but deep down, we are all afraid to die.
Of course I'm afraid to die. Not only the potential pain, but the loss of everything I've worked for in my life, and the uncertainty of what happens after death too. It's not something I worry about all the time though.
It depends on if I've had a love-filled successful life or not. I fear death now because I have a child and fiance to live for. I would never want to abandon them in this world alone.

I had to do a report about this..... and it is hard to be patient with those who say death is not real, or it doesnt matter. It is real and it does matter.
Yes, to me l guess it's mainly my thoughts of what happens after l die that scares me most. lf l didn't believe in an after life, it probably wouldn't be so 'scarey'..
I'm afraid of what I'll be when I die. Just nothing, as if my mind and my consciousness had never existed. On the one hand, I won't be able to suffer from what I won't be able to do any more, and on the other hand, I won't be able to rejoice in what I had already done. It's pretty 50/50, depends how well my life treats me.
