I feel like it's a rather unnecessary procedure. I mean you can live happily in the EXACT same way without having the same last name, and if things go sour you can simply just leave and that's that. It's just become the social norm now for most people to get married.
It's nice to have reason to celebrate, but what's to stop you celebrating anyway?
Depends, if you get married when you are 20 these days you've created a nuesence. Â (with the exception of a small percentage) Â If you do it when you're 40 now it should be a blessing. Â Life was simpler 50 years ago, you got a job then a gal and had kids.... Â These days money rules, she may love ya but if you don't got coin it won't mean crap to her if you get up and go to work everyday to support you two. Â Â

vicious cycleA blessing. And since the TC didn't offer any useful wisdom to this thread, neither will I.

I believe it is a divinely given institution between a man and a woman. Jesus said in Mark 10,
6) But from the beginning of creation, God made them male and female.7) Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife,8) and the two shall become one flesh. So they are no longer two but one flesh.9 What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate.
So obviously, I believe it is a blessing. Anything outside the bounds of God's definition is open rebellion against the created order.

And what Jesus said I replaced with "What a man was 2000 years ago, means nothing at all to me today!" Â Oppps!!!!!!!!!!!!
I believe it is a divinely given institution between a man and a woman. Jesus said in Mark 10,6) But from the beginning of creation, God made them male and female.7) Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife,8) and the two shall become one flesh. So they are no longer two but one flesh.9 What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate.

Don't forget the dowry in which two patriachal heads of family make a deal for their children to marry for economic and political gain.. Afterall we are talking about traditional marriage right?

I feel like it's not for everybody.
That said, neither is being single for your whole life.
I think a lot of people who should never marry and are better off on their own try the whole family thing and then divorce, but only after having a kid or starting some serious financial commitment.Â
just kidding, I know, and I appreciate it.
I think it's more of a nuesence because I'm seeing people get married as soon as they're done with school, or some girls I graduated with are apparently getting married to guys in the army at the age from 18-21 anymore.Sweetbackhair
You speak as if that's a new trend.
