Not necessarily a religious spirituality but something great than yourself? I sometimes feel that time would be better spent focusing on improving my own flaws and introspecting on what those are rather than looking towards a spiritual good. Thoughts?

I arbitrarily define spirituality as a scope of seemingly transcendent experience that anyone can have, regardless of propositional beliefs. You don't necessarily have to believe that there is anything 'greater than yourself' or beyond the physical realm to partake in this scope of experience but just appreciate it for what it is. I also promote scientific investigation of this scope of experience.

I only feel spiritual when I'm in an alter-stated...otherwise life is hard then you die.

Hah. Spiritual while f*cked up is the best. Like the prophet Bill Hicks said: "I'm glad mushrooms are against the law, because I took them one time, and you know what happened to me? I laid in a field of green grass for four hours going, "My God! I love everything." Yeah. Now, if that isn't a hazard to our country. Do you see my point? How are we gonna keep building nuclear weapons, you know what I mean? Whats gonna happen to the arms industry when we realize were all one. Ha ha ha ha ha! Its gonna f*ck up the economy! The economy thats fake anyway! Ha ha ha! Which would be a real bummer. You know. You can see why the governments cracking down."

That depends upon what you define as spiritual things. For example, as I am inclined to believe that human beings are just as much body as spirit then to not be a spiritual person is to be a person who does not exist. With this understanding spirituality is very much an important part of life.

It waters down to; do you believe in God or do you believe as an individual you yourself is God. two completely different lifestyle and ya actions really prove what you believe in.

I'm sorry but this is an absurd false dichotomy. Many people don't believe either of these propositions and are instead uncertain about unknown phenomena. This is actually the most rational stance without evidence.

If you acknowledge that your statement is a false dichotomy, that means you acknowledge that it's fallacious and therefore logically incorrect. More information here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/False_dilemma

You are proving my point without me needing to try. Why do you feel the need to prove me wrong? An ego that believes what I said is against you. If an individual believes one self is alpha and omega you wouldn't be able to worship God with others. As a slave you can't have two owners. Sorry for using the word God because i know the first thing that comes to mind is church and atheism, when what I am saying is bigger than that. Talking about spiritualism this is the war within one to follow one self as lord or follow a loving lord of multiple people

Heheh, I'm anti-spiritual when I'm sober, but under the influence of psychoactive drugs(particularly psychedelics), I become spiritual or at least more open to the idea of it. It's why I like them; helps to shut down my logical/rational thinking side sometimes and helps my creative side flourish a bit more.

Morality is an important part of my life. It doesn't necessarily have to do with spirituality, but I belive doing the right thing is an important part of who I am as a person. Does it make sense? Probably not, but I'm kind of drunk so f*** it.

[QUOTE="playmynutz"]You are proving my point without me needing to try. Why do you feel the need to prove me wrong?

This is a forum where people express ideas. It's perfectly natural for people to express when they disagree with the claims of others. The fact that I've disagreed with you doesn't prove that I'm wrong. You'll have to address the content of my argument to prove me wrong I'm afraid. [QUOTE="playmynutz"]An ego that believes what I said is against you. If an individual believes one self is alpha and omega you wouldn't be able to worship God with others. As a slave you can't have two owners. Sorry for using the word God because i know the first thing that comes to mind is church and atheism, when what I am saying is bigger than that. You are just rewording what you said before and it remains just as fallacious as it was before. To elaborate, you are making a universal claim that all people who exist either believe that they themselves are God or that another God exists. This is fallacious because there are examples of people who exist and don't fall into either of these categories. For example, people like me, who don't either believe that God exists or that they, themselves are God. I am uncertain of whether either of these claims are true, for instance and therefore don't fit into your overly simplistic claim. People can be unconvinced of the claim that a God exists, especially a 'loving' God, without believing themselves to be Gods.

I guess I never really took into consideration that my spirituality can be whatever I want it to be rather than what people perceive it should be. I guess all you drug takers have a awesome sense of this considering you all have felt that "out of the body spirituality phenomenon" that no one can understand except you.

I've been getting that melded/melted effect lately. Feels so odd and awesome to think that your legs/body is a chair or w/e. Also, love love love going outside when I do that thing that I always do.

[QUOTE="Rich3232"] I love that dude. Will have to listen to him again this Friday night.

I actually hate him. Take the quote that was used. He goes on about how awesome drugs are and how how much they expand the mind and promote peace and love. This coming from a mean spirited man whose idea of "comedy" involved treating audience members like $***. Oh, and then there's the fact that he was a chain smoker who died of cancer. In other words, DRUGS killed his ass prematurely, robbing him of the chance to keep spreading his wisdom. Of course, the worst thing about him is that HE IS NOT FUNNY. I'm not denying that he's smart. I'm not denying that he had some good points. But he was really a social and political commentator POSING as a comedian. Even when I agree with him 100%, he is not funny. And even when looking at him as JUST a social commentator, too much of his stuff gets bogged down with the whole juvenile cliched stuff like "drugs good, establishment bad!" Anyway, on topic: yes, I feel that "spirituality" is important. At least, it's important for me in my life. That's not to say that I'm religious, I'm actually an atheist. But I don't equate "spirituality" with "being religious", and I don't equate "spirituality" with "believing in dumbass stuff like ghosts or souls or spirits". For me personally, "spirituality" is just an overwhelming sense of humility and power.
