Do you find a smug sense of satisfaction when correcting another person's spelling mistakes? I do. It makes me feel so... superior.
Having said that, I sure hope there aren't any spelling errors in this post.

Only when someone is trying to diss my spelling then he makes an error himself.
No I usually get really pissed at myself for making that stupid mistake and I start hitting myself. Most of the times I end up running into a wall just because I'm so angry.
I hope there aren't any spelling mistakes in this post. Or... Yeah you know. :P

my smug satisfaction comes from beating down those that try to correct my spelling.....:twisted:Omni-Slash
Capitalize your sentences, filth!
What...i'm correcting your grammar..
On forums no. That would be like bragging about picking up garbage in landfill. On documents that should of been spell checked, and proofread yes. I feel pretty good about finding errors in those types of documents because it means I'm paying close attention to detail.jrhawk42
I notice how people use it when they have clearly lost an argument or run out of things to say in a debate. Its only a forum; of course people are going to make mistakes.....zepman71
its =/= it's
Oh, yes! It feels so good!
One of those guilty pleasure things. I don't know, it just aggravates me to no end when someone has difficulty composing words, unless of course, they are spelling in a language secondary to their own. When I find myself making a mistake, I usually go out of my way to fix it.3KindgomsRandy
Me too. I don't literally bash someone for spelling mistakes, but i do take notice. :P
Of course, i don't bash someone if American isn't their main language.
By the way, i'm thirteen and my main language isn't American, so you can't do anything!
I think correcting someone else's spelling is meaningless. A job for small minds !
--Anna--
What if the correction is done with an intent to educate? Would that make it meaningful? The warm fuzzy feeling can be looked upon as a simple perk.

My feelings entirely.
No, most of the time its just typos. Nothing wrong with that.Drizzt13
...and other times it's a failure to know the difference between similar sounding words.
