I know I do. Don't get me wrong, sometimes I find the show funny as hell but I can't ignore the fact that the show uses the N word in such a liberal fashion. Being an African-American myself, I do not condone such an ugly word in my daily life and it is such a shame that others do. However, The Boondocks isn't the only outlet of such ignorance; the dreaded N word is found in almost all media known to man (movies, music, video games, etc) Some people might argue that because it's a black show it's ok for the N word to be prevalent but i say that is bull. Just because some people of color refer to themselves with such a horrible word doesn't make it ok. Maybe I'm just old fashioned but I just had to get that off my chest. Thanks for hearing me out.

No, but I don't like the show at all myself. I tried two episodes and gave up. It did not appeal to me at all - didn't find it entertaining or funny.

No, I don't. I had a black friend in high school that didn't say the N-word much at all, but felt that by using it it loses most of what makes it still carry such power. By making the word commonplace it doesn't make it hateful, it just makes it common place.

No, I don't find it offensive in the least, unless you count how offensive it is to my taste. That show is god-awful.

normally I agree with you, but I think in The Boondocks the excessive use of the N-word is used to put people in a bad light; I have not watched a lot of (I love the show, though), but it seems like the only people using the N-word are either crude or unlikeable characters.

Correct me if I am wrong, please...as I said, I dont watch enough but the only people I recall going "N-word this" and "N-word that" were gangsters, idiots, and jerks.

pretty much

and as much as I hate to quote southpark, that one episode about the F-word makes a valid point...language is constantly evolving, and words that used to be horrible now hold little power, and words change meaning and all that crap.

I remember the first time I heard someone use the word "sick" to describe something as interesting, cool, etc and I was like "WTF are you talking about? This dog is not sick, he is perfectly healthy!"

I'm black myself and no it doesn't offend me at all. The show's meant to portray the life of Blacks living in those areas.

to answer the TC - no it does not offend me. It's a fusion of my two favorite things: Satire + Anime.

It's a great show that doesn't hold any punches. The excessive use of the N word is meant to satirize gangstas using the word excessively. The show itself is a satirical take on Black culture in America and how Blacks see themselves. Plus, they mercilessly skewered the most hated channel IMO, BET.

I don't find the show offensive, I know some people like Sharpton and Jackson tried to stop the show from being aired. But, most blacks I know aren't offended by the show, because it's a hyperbole of reality. People talk about the overuse of the N-word, but if you've ever been around a lot of blacks you'll realize that blacks do overuse the N-word. And I think it's refreshing that their is actually a show revolving around black people, that is actually written by a black guy. Because, it funny that most black shows are written by whites.

I used to play college football and I watched it on the bus full of black people. They weren't offended by it, so I wasn't offended by it.
