For the most part, yes. But I get frusterated because both of my parents don't exactly approve of my video game playing, so that has caused quite a few arguments.
My dad and I get along pretty well overall. I don't talk to him about personal things too much because he never gives any feedback, so we usually just talk politics. He's a major conservative Republican, and I'm rather conservative (I want to clear up that I am conservative by CHOICE -- he didn't talk me into it or anything), so it's kind of fun to get into some heated discussions. However...right now I can't wait to get away from him. I've been stuck in my house with him since Thursday. He hasn't let me leave since then because of the flood we're having. I'm going crazy because he won't calm down. He paces all day long.
It's on-and-off. Sometimes we're best friends, and sometimes we hate each other. We also have similar personality types and that surly contributes to some of the tension.

that's how it is with my dad we both have the same aggressive personality so it sometimes causes conflicts, but I actually look up to him in a way.
My parents divorced when I was six years old. Me and my dad were tight as can be forever. Then he got married to his current wife when I was 16. Stopped talking to me. Moved away, changed phone numbers, etc. etc. Kinda of a slap in the face. I've gotten over it though.

That's terrible, I'm so sorry. :( I had a really poor relationship with my dad for most of my life, until I was nearly 18. We get along great now though, and our relationship is better than it has ever been. I am surprised on how much of a difference having a good relationship with my father has meant to me... for others of you out there who have bad relationships with their parents, I would encourage you to try and work it out if at all possible.
Nope, because he doesn't appreciate/ is never proud of any of my accomplishments. It's like no matter what grades I pull off (90 averages) and no matter what I do in my spare time, it's either wrong or I should be doing something else (ie. when studying I should be outside and when outside I should be studying >.>). Oh, and did I mention he's a fascist that believes too heavily in "Italian pride", if you catch my drift.
No unfortunately, and it's been going on for so long we've both forgotten the reason for it and both of us are too stubborn and proud to take the first step in fixing our relationship.
i get along great with my dad.. whn i see him after a long period of time that is.. if not we'll have a fight like once every 2 or 3 days.. sometimes hes like the wors.. most times hes the best :D kinda hard 2 xplain
I get along with my dad swimmingly. I respect him, and I think I've begun to earn his respect as I try to grow up and make me own mark. But I got lucky, both of my folks are artists, so they pretty much support me in whatever I'm doing!
