I could never understand it about some weak people over here, in that they say it's so sickening and gross or whatever when watching sheep get slaughtered or cows getting their hindquarters carved off, to see all that warm steam evaporate into the air as the animal flails around in it's last inches of life... ah, what a mesmerizing and beautiful experience. Has anyone actually had such an experience in the states? Or elsewhere?

Butchers don't slaughter the animals. Butchers work with animals that are already dead.

I'll echo the butchers only deal with carcasses thing. I've been to slaughterhouses - they don't offend me, really, but they aren't exactly pleasant places. Despite cleaning them several times a day the buildings reek of blood, and there's something somber about the procession of cows as they snake their way through covered fences only to be fitted with a restraining harness and corked in the head with a captive bolt. Then they lift out the carcass and begin to bleed it out, and your mouth waters and you wish you had a hamburger.

Yes. I don't turn away my eyes but when I see sheep getting killed I always feel like... "I'm glad I wasn't the one who did that".

It's never bothered me i grew up with my dad being a butcher his whole life. An then my parents had there own meat market so i saw cows, chickens, pigs, what ever being cut up an prepared to be eaten. It's how it works or we wouldnt have any food to eat, that cow made me a nice cheese burger that i can enjoy with some fries an a pepsi. LOL!

No, when I see a butcher slice off a 16oz steak, it makes my mouth water.

Since my mom work at a meat packing plant I've seen animals get put down and processed. While I don't hold your extatic..and somewhat creepy entusiasm TC, I don't flinch either or feel disgusted.

I have seen chicken being beheaded and even after they are beheaded their bodies still run around until they die out... :?

That has happened before my eyes in a farm..... :?

It was gross.

Yes I've gutted very large deer before so watching a butcher cut up various cuts of meat from a large slab o' meat off of an animal is nothing that particularly bothers me.

Grossed out? Not at all, I still remember this one bullfightsI attended back ago, after the show ended they dragged the corpse of the last bull to a small shack as people began to crowd it, they split open the bull as its insides spilled out onto the dirty floor, you can see some steam coming from the nasty crack it made when they opened it.

This guy just pulls out the stomach with his bare hands and other organs, while another cuts off the testes with a single stroke. Also some of the men in the audience were given the blood of the bull and dranked it.

Yeah so thats pretty much what I saw, I wasn't disgusted at all, more like curiousity.

You're pretty sick, Chubbs.fidosim
+1 points for the reference. Butchers don't make me ill because I used to be one. I used to package and unpackage meat all day if you get my drift.
