I've noticed that some of my friends like to handshake or 'dap' when we see eachother. And others never do.

Depends, 9.5 times out of 10, a slap-bump is appropriate.

Some of my friends prefer a solid handshake.

When someone tries to shake my hand, I back away and scream "DON'T TOUCH ME!"

we hug no seriously we hug, well here in london, the "badamans" (gangster wana-be's) are like "kl fam" but im a normal skater kid, and we hug and handshake for jokes, so the "badamans" think we are "wasted" HAHATrx07

I think that's a skater thing. My crew loves to joke around, eventually it becomes part of are greed/depart routine.

I'll do the handshake-hug-pat if I see a good friend that I haven't seen in a while.

It depends:

my really close friends, pretty much never,  I think im to close to those guys to really bother handshaking unless its a birthday or stuff.

When theres more 'general' friends at a place besides school, I tend to shake their hand, for example in a club or at a sportschool.

I do that too with some of my friends. I mostly do it with the warehouse workers at my company cause their hands are always dirty.

Nah, I always go in for a hug.

Bear hug if its been a long time since seeing them.

If I see them every day, though, I just give a fist pound.

Kick in the pants, slap to the face, roundhouse kick to the eye.

You know, the usual.

One of my friends shook my parents hands when she met them which I found totally baffling and out of the blue.

I never shake people's hands unless Im at work. 

There is typically physical contact in one form or another.  We try our best to make the everyone feel awkward so we'll walk up to one another and massage each other's shoulders or give each other a hug.  Hugs are common no matter if we are joking... the length of the hug however....

Normally I'll just wave to them.  I'll sometimes walk up to them and touch their shoulder and say "Hi." 

Pain is fun tho! and you don't have to aim for the face or arms. fastesttruck
