Lets you say that, hypothetically speaking, you saw a dog defecate right as you are about to take the first bite of your lunch. Do you feel like puking, or does it not affect you?

Out of everything I've ever seen, from a guy eating bull **** to someone comitting suicide, the only thing I've never been able to stomach is when someone gets their eyes 'tattooed'.
I've seen much worse, to the point I've notice how much I have been de-sensitized. EMT in Arizona. HT89488
Hmmm, well I am sure you have had moreexperience with blood and such than I have, but what about feces and vomit? Those tend to be two of the things that really gross people out at my job...
Gore doesn't bother me at all, unless it looks like it REALLY hurts. Something gross like poop might make me lose my appetite
I have never had an appetite for food ruined assuming there is nothing actually wrong with the food itself. That said, I do actually have to watch what I eat due to heartburn.mindstorm
Ya watching a dog poop and things like blood and guts dont bother me at all but I do have to watch out for heartburn. It's been bad enough a few times that I haven't been able to sleep at all through the night

Yes, Geriatric Incontinence. I don't clean it up though, that is what nurses are for.[QUOTE="LostProphetFLCL"][QUOTE="HT89488"]I've seen much worse, to the point I've notice how much I have been de-sensitized. EMT in Arizona. HT89488

Was curious what you have experienced. I would think being an EMT is one of the only jobs that would have potentially leave you more desensitized to being grossed out than my job as a nursing assistant.

I've helped pick up amputated parts, or "partial amputation. I think there is a more technical term for partial amputation I don't remember, but yes, lots of blood. I am a EMT-B by the way, not a paramedic. I have seen some really awful situations. I think my last major one that upset me a lot was seeing a toddler in the middle of the intersection dead in his car seat. Anyways, blood and stuff doesn't bother me as much as I thought it would, nor does vomit or "poop", the smell is a different story, but I have stuff for that, that helps.."sometimes". heh.[QUOTE="LostProphetFLCL"][QUOTE="HT89488"] Yes, Geriatric Incontinence. I will never forget the day I changed my first colostomy bag. The smell was freaking stuck in my nose for the entire night....
Easily one of the most disgusting smells in existence. That and the smell of C-Diff diareha are like the only two smells that bother me still...
I ate a Blizzard that had a pubic hair on it okay.KiIIyouHow did you know the origins of that hair??
I wouldn't say its weak, just picky about certain things. For example people touching my food, plate, eating utensils, etc will make me probably not wanna eat. Being served is totally different, I don't mind that but say if its someone and I don't know if their hands are clean or not, that bugs me
Also i don't like seeing or hearing about medical stuff when eating, or hearing about health issues and all that
Maybe it is slighly weak :P

Pubic hair can't be mistaken.
Not really, but I do get nauseous easily (if I eat too early, too much, etc).
Suzy_Q_Kazoo
I can't eat early in the morning either gives me a upset stomach. Although a protein drink in the morning goes down fine, so thats what I do.

You both might want to look into an extended release med like Nexium and cut out any potential caffeine intake you have.
I went through a period of a month where I was throwing up every morning. I ended up being diagnosed with having a hiatal hernia and my doctor put my on nexium to take at night and it worked wonders.
After changing my diet up I actually don't need the nexium anymore, but it was a great instant solution to that problem.

Iuno if mine is serious enough for meds. My stomach has always been a pain tho, could never enjoy desert or cake as a little kid. :(

Did you ever get any tests done to see if anything is up?
Anyways, meds are definitely a last ditch effort. I only took the meds for a few months till I changed up my diet a bit and my stomach has been good since.
I can't stress enough how bad caffeine can be here. I do drink caffeine a bit still, but I don't overdue it. If I go and grab a cappucino from Starbucks or something, my stomach gets seriously upset by it...

Nope, I don't think I want to know... : / A friend of mine when I was in elementary asked if I had cancer, so I was a pretty sick little kid, same reason why I am a muscle head and into nutrition/diet now.
I don't drink much cofee.
I am quick to gag on things like fat and mucus, and I experience pretty bad motion sickness, but I have never in my life gagged at the sight of something.

Funny thing, when I went through that month of stomach hell my doctor actually had me tested for brain cancer as I also have chronic headaches...
If this has been a long-term thing you definitely should go get checked out to see what's up. I doubt it would be anything serious and you could probably get a simple solution to the problem.
