To those who are annoyed by my numerous threads, please forgive me. Anyhow, I was in another thread and couldn't help but notice the numerous anti-Obama posts. It makes me wonder why people dislike him. Sometimes I read comments on YouTube in which people insult him for some of the stupidest reasons. For example, someone once ridiculed him for returning a salute to a Marine enlisted serviceman. Also, it seems that people are so profane and vulgar in their insults (on YouTube, not here). I don't even recall people insulting Bush in this manner. Anyhow, if you dislike Obama, please explain the reasons for your hatred. Also, please provide concrete examples for your hatred. Also, will you vote for him in 2012?

No I don't. I also don't see why people would hate the man personally even if they (strongly) disagree with his policies. He seems like a good guy on the whole.

its stupid...obama has been a great president, imo the best of the last 2 decades I dont really see why all the hate...well..I do see why actually...people love to blame someone, and since americans always associate the word "socialism" and anything related to it with "terrorism" or "soviets" and "bad things" then they say "OH NO, A SOCIALIST HEALTH SYSTEM! THAT WILL LEAD THIS COUNTRY TO ITS DOOM!"

I don't like either party right now. but i know i can't vote for a republican since they will be pandering the social conservatives while preaching fiscal conservatism but only really serving a corporatist agenda. similar to the democrats but without the social conservatism.

I don't personally dislike the man, but disagree with him on a number of political areas. Unless the Republicans put Sarah Palin up for election in 2012, or someone equally as repulsive (Bachman, Gingrich, Trump) then I don't imagine myself not voting against him in 2012.

I fail to see how he can get so much hate as a president when most of the president before him were jokes. I mean out of the last 30 years Clinton was really the only one who came off as a decent leader and actually seemed to have gotten positive results.

nope, he's always been a nice guy his wife and kids are nice too, when he was running for senate in 2004 his wife went door to door to houses around my neighborhood passing out flyers for him, and he gave trees away to people that attended some rally or something of his.

Now, as for his policies that's a different story...

With the way the country is ran, they need the supporters of the political parties to get things done.

Glad I don't live in America, for the past twenty years it's been the same thing. Elect a republican and he runs the country into the ground, then elect a democrat and they can't fix all of the problems that people were hoping for, vote in a republican. It really is a vicious cycle.

That being said, I don't hate Obama and would gladly vote for him if given the chance.

Obviously I do not dislike him as a person. I have not met him and actually he seems like a cool guy to hang with (as long as you dont accidentally bust his lip during a pick up game. :P) Anyway, I do disagree with many of his policies and views. Pretty sure I don't like the direction the health system is going in, his views on abortion strongly contrast with mine, and he hasn't exactly cut spending as much as he said he would.

Obama does very little, it seems like he doesn't take his job seriously and insteads tours the country. He has done no good to the country. I understand there were lots of problems before he got into office, can't blame any of those problems on him, but what serious attempts has he done to fix any of them?

My biggest gripe with Obama is his inability to effectively lead the US; Washington is still very hostile, and although that's not Obama's fault entirely, he's definitely not helping.

As for the state of the US, I blame the public. :x

And that multiple laws have been passed to alleviate the problems too?

You mean lower taxes for middle class. His plan was to let bush tax cuts to expire to the rich. But then Mitch McConnel wanted millionaires to get extra money.

Why? (just curious)

Because the Republicans' behavior for the past years has been ridiculous and inexcusable. They have yet to so much as introduce a single job bill in Congress (despite their "jobs jobs jobs" rhetoric last year), but they have plenty of time to pull out two anti-abortion bills, a rape-redefining bill, and an anti-healthcare bill that even Speaker Bonehead knows has no chance (and don't give me the "they haven't had enough time" crap; by this time, the 111th Congress had passed ten bills). In the states, Republicans like Prince Walker have been attacking unions with fabrications and typical fear-mongering while the dumbass Scott in Florida is denying federal money for a high speed railroad (that could, you know, create more jobs and encourage commerce) for no discernible reason and to the fierce criticism of even Republican state legislators. They held Congress hostage, refusing to do absolutely anything until the Democrats passed a bill extending tax cuts for people making over a million dollars, despite all evidence showing that such cuts will increase our debt by billions. Their constant support of anti-lgbt legislation and their poor-bashing rhetoric is enough for me to conclude they have no interest in the American people whatsoever. I will never, ever vote Republican (or Conservative, should the Republicans happen to do a 180 in my lifetime) again.

Clinton didn't really strong arm the GOP as he went much too right wing to have strong armed them. I would call Lyndon Johnson a strong-armer, not Clinton. What Clinon was exploit their mistakes and paint himself as a centrist, sucessfully using them as a foil.

I think he's been a good President and I think he acts like much more of an adult than his detractors, but his administration, for some strange reason, does a mediocre job of communicating their agenda and what not. They let the Republicans get too much in the way of political points.

That being said, I'm fairly certain that I will be voting from him in 2012. Third parties don't interest me and I can't see myself voting for a Republican, considering how ridiculous they've gotten lately (and considering that I simply don't agree with their worldview).

Nah, Pres Obama is cool, although he could do a better job of surrounding himself with people with good ideas. I'll vote for him again cause the repubs dont seem to have a candidate better and Obama is the kinda guy that ONCE you give him a selection of good possible solutions he will pick the best one.

As far as all the hate goes, people hate all the Presidents while they are in office. Bush and Obama just were the unfortunate to be pres during the age of the interwebs were everyone has something to say and people will say outlandish things just to grab your attention.

[QUOTE="QiiXii"] Why? (just curious)coolbeans90

As a matter of sheer curiosity, might I inquire as to why you used to vote Republican/conservative?

I live in the Deep South, where all things Liberal are taught from childhood to be Satan's deceptions; everyone in my family is conservative and almost everyone at my college is conservative. Naturally, I grew up thinking conservative was the way to go.
