The reason for deja vu is a rare case when your brain perceives what you see, quicker than usual. Your brain automatically perceives the sight faster than your eyes( or something like that) so your brain detects it maybe a nanosecond faster than your eyes so technically you saw it, before. Which is why you're like "wait aminute, I've seen this some where"
Edit: Yeah I botched it up. Basically its when your eye perceives the image a nanosecond faster than your other eye and creates the sensation that you're re-experiencing that moment.
Yep. I have it often. Like I will have dreams of something and then someday along the line (usually within a week or a month of the dream) I seem to live out that moment. And when it comes around, I think a bit, and then chuckle. It happens quite a bit.
One example: I had a dream I was out with some friends at a random party and met a nice girl. Just last night it seemed to play out exactly asit had inthe dream.

Actually that's because you "remember" the dream when you meet the nice girl.
(aka a slow deja vu or a detailed deja vu)
However it can be discussed whether you remember the dream or make it up.
