[QUOTE="olion"][QUOTE="Blood-Scribe"][QUOTE="olion"]Not to take over the topic or anything, but can anyone touch type on a DVORAK (not QWERTY) setup?Blood-Scribe
People still use that configuration?
I've never met someone who does use it, although I'm pretty sure most OS's support it. I've been thinking about switching over, since the story goes that QWERTY was invented in order to slow typists down because they would jam the typewriter.
Well I doubt you'll be able to find one at a local store, and trying to switch from QWERTY to DVORAK would be pretty annoying. Well, at least I'd think it's an annoying transition. I just don't see the practicality in completely revamping your feel for typing just to increase your speed, and you'd have a lot of trouble using public computers, or just about any computer that doesn't belong to you.
Unless you want the letters on the keys to match, you just need to change your OS settings to make it a DVORAK keyboard. I can what you mean with transitioning between home and school/work use though. If I do decide to swtich I'll probably give it a month and see how it goes, which will decide whether or not I stick with it.
