It's already December 1st here in Australia, but I'll ask this anyway.

I sure do. I mainly enjoy the cooking aspect overall though. Plus, the build-up to Christmas is great in my opinion. Admittedly, I do enjoy eating fruitcake. Can't go wrong with eggnog either. (I've wanted to make homemade eggnog for years.)

I don't have friends I hang out with and grew up in a poor household where we didn't show much affection for each other, so no. Holidays are for people with loved ones. I don't care about Christmas.

@ezekiel43: I'm sorry to hear that man. I guess everyone isn't really into holidays. That's understandable.

Back in my school and teen days, I loved Christmas. Now as an adult, I no longer have that same Christmas spirit anymore. Not sure how I feel about Christmas day since I am not very attached to seeing my relatives due to the language barrier. Don't really have friends either to celebrate within my area, but at least family and work make up for that festive feel.

Don't you guys celebrate Christmas in July-August because of winter?

Sure. It's an excuse to be with loved ones, eat some good food, having a peaceful time together. I like it.

Oh yeah. I very much enjoy holidays such as Christmas. I like to be out and about hearing the music in stores and all the lights and decorations around. Of course I also enjoy spending time with family and friends and eating a variety of holiday foods.

Nope. I don't really care for holidays beyond getting time off from work. It's just another regular day for me. I don't get anyone anything nor do I ask for anything.

Came here to say this.

Christmas used to be fun when I was a kid growing up in the 90's but nowadays, it's all commercialized and takes away what really makes Christmas special. For anyone who is Religion, I know Christmas is about Resurrection of Jesus right?

Actually, Easter is all about the Resurrection. Christmas has almost nothing to do with Christianity (aside from the forced, modern "it's Jesus' birthday!" story despite the scant historical evidence he was said to be born in the late Spring).

The gift-giving, the feasting, the tree decorating, the white-bearded man flying in a sleigh delivering gifts, the fireplace... it's all Germanic/Norse pagan tradition. They call it "Yule".

No, not so much Christmas spirit.

I do enjoy hanging out with my family, buying gifts, and treating myself to something nice (this year it will be a video card).

I hate how all the Holidays start so early now, though, at least as far as marketing goes.

I don't celebrate it. I also am not for people who take a day or week off to stop being jerks just because it's of "Christmas Spirit". Either stop being a jerk all year long, or just be a jerk always.

@speeny: I am certain it's a thing in Australia where some people celebrate Christmas in July-August. It was documented on terrestrial TV in the UK. Some people in Adelaide celebrated it

Not as much anymore.

Broken up family, alienated by the extended family, and many of my friends I've lost relationships to due to my depression not really giving a care to maintain them. Troubled folks that have lived in troubled homes really are the loneliest people, even when they're briefly surrounded by what is left of a family and friends that you hold a thread to.

Christmas is one of the few holidays where my family and relatives can get together. So, yeah. We enjoy the holiday season from Thanksgiving to New Year's Eve.

That makes three of us the 90's was such a amazing decade it just had a party atmosphere and people weren't so divided like they are today. I'm so glad I grew up in the 90's before smart phones and social media took over such a simpler time it really felt like a different world back then one I wish I could go back to.

Not into Christmas like I used to. Had a few big tragedies in the 90's,really bad one comes to mind, which I don't want to mention. My mom has lung cancer, stage 4 and it's advanced. Working now, but unsure what the future holds, a good one or not. I have brothers, but were not close and plus that they have their own family and friends. Nothing left after my mom. Hopefully it works out for the best? Merry Christmas all.

I don't like how everyone is supposed to happy during Christmas. It seems to me very forceful. During this month there are songs blaring throughout some malls. While other months it's mostly non-holiday songs.

i dont go mad but i am partial to a mince pie or 2....per hour....on the hour.....every day in December. And Christmas pudding with an Irish coffee....and Christmas cake. and the dinner....ooooooooh the dinner. more than 1 christmas dinner may be had in December :P.

The only thing is i hate how early retailers try to push it. All christmas related stuff should be banned from display/speakers until 01/Dec. Some shops here had christmas stuff up before Halloween even came...its mad and demeans the holiday. Give Halloween a chance dammit!!

I enjoy spending time with family and friends who have moved away but come back for christmas, baking/eating delicious food and taking some time off work.

I hate the excessive consumerism/commercialisation as others have said

I just wish I could make an agreement with everyone I know that they don't have to give me any gifts and I won't get any for them.

I enjoy walking into shopping malls with all those christmas decorations... The only thing is that I dont like to do it alone and I dont have many people to do so either... So, I do like it, but I dont usually go out to see it. As for the family, I've been alone in Christmas Eve and I dont feel sad being away from my family, I just had my meal (a special one btw) and then just kept playing videogames or watching series, just like any other night...

To be honest I find it boring. Can understand it's different if you have kids I suppose it's more game time for me though.
