It's nothing challenging and it helps to cover bills/loans/expenses while I search for something better paying.
I'm retired, but I spend a lot of time at the local schools taking care of their IT needs since they have only one IT guy for the entire county and he's busy as hell.
I've taught a few extra-curricular classes on basic computing and HTML/JScript and that's always fun, because the kids who are there want to be there. I don't think I could do it for a paycheck, but as a volunteer it's great. Most of those kids will take what I taught them and show up the next week well ahead of where I planned to pick up.
If I ever went back to work I'd try to get something down the road at ORNL with physics or something, but that would require a few more years of schooling to get the accreditation required and I'm not so sure I want to go back to college at my age.
I would say I have no right to complain about my job. Deployments suck and I'm an under payed Network Manager-- but at least I can say I have a job in this economy. The USAF has also afforded me the job experience and ability to obtain certifications that I would've never imagined possible a couple years ago. SO, yeah, it's been good to me.
It is pretty decent. The pay is good and my hours aren't bad for working in IT. I will probably leave in a year or two, I could do with a change of scenery i.e. country.
Yes. Mainly because I'm the only one doing it (scanning medical documents for my dad's friend).
Pretty much $10 an hour too :D
Yeah, I do.
I work in a local supermarket with a few of my close friends, which is good. The work isn't too boring and the pay's nice. But the place has been cutting down on shifts lately, so my only option is to take any shifts that people offer me or get the hell out of there.
Considering I only work two days a week, I love it but I would like another job with more hours. I want more money.
[QUOTE="meconate"]Unemployed.. I'd take any job.. anybody want their butt wiping?lo_PineSome jobs coal mining open here in WV.He lives in the UK.
Eh, its not that bad. Well, last semester was horrible because of peak season. 50-60 hour weeks during finals. I was taking 14 credits of upper level classes, except only class that was below 300 level, which was Math 271 (Calc 2) This semesters gonna be exciting...on tuesdays I'll have about 3 hours between work and school, and 3 hours between school and work. It'll be worth it somedayJesus man, working til 4:30 then uni? Screw that

hey dudes!!! do you like your job? i start work at 5am and its starting to get annoying now, it screws up my whole sleeping pattern. I'm starting school in a week so I think i might just quit soon, the boss is nice, but my coworkers suck except for my supervisor. WHAT ABOUT YOU? :DTHEBVSEDu must be working at KFC or Mcdonald
I do like my job but not because of the job necessarily; I enjoy it because of a person I work with. And that makes the job worthwhile.
That's a tough question... I'm currently in law school, which is a full-time job in itself, but I've also started a consulting company over the last year. There are aspects of law school that I like - learning the theory and doctrines of laws that pertain to my background (information security/assurance) - but many more that are more of a burden than anything. Had I started law school in my early 20's after my master's degree, I think I would've found it to be more interesting, but as a married 31 year old with a career under his belt and a new business, I think I find it to be more of a job than an experience.
I've held a lot of titles over the years: Professor, Information Security Officer, Electronic Voting Machine Auditor, Pizza Delivery Man, Janitor and so on, but I think building my own business from scratch has been the most rewarding, yet tedious experience so far. I don't have a schedule per se - deliverables MUST be... well, delivered - so working with handling my time and creating realistic deadlines and expectations as been challenging. Sometimes I wish I would be happy with settling down, but I'm not wired that way. I LOVED being a professor (4 years), so I think I'll probably head back to Academe after law school is finished and my businesses' brand is established.
