If I am working I have no aversion to music playing. If I was studying for school or whatever, depending on the importance of the work, I would, or wouldn't have music playing. I can be distracting, but it can also help zone you out. All depends on the work really.
I find that listening to classical music helps quite a bit with my concentration, as long as it's not too loud. So yeah, I try to listen to that when I'm working on something.
i remember in highschool i always listen to Metallica when i have to read a book for an English exam or just study, it's weird but my brain actually starts to function when i play Sad but true or Nothing else matters
I try to whenever I can, but for some reason when I am at the college, I feel like my music is too loud sometimes with headphones on so I don't have it on when I am studying there.
Assuming you're studying for a test or exam, it's less effective to study while listening to music unless you're allowed to listen to music when you're actually writing the test. Your environment where your studying vs. where you write your test actually has a legitimate impact on how well you remember what you studied.
Always, to MGMT, MIA, Santogold, Cobra Starship, Coldplay. Kinda weird electronic music does it for me, managed to graduate as honary student. Im pretty happy xd
