not so much these days. but back in High School I was in a drawing class where we could put our music on for everyone. I decided torture via Ocarina of Time soundtrack would be funny (turns out they liked it though, so joke was on me).
Time for a post to Fail Blog. Do you have a song track you would like me to put with that? MODERATION!!!!!!
lol, nah. I well aware I failed at that one. who knew chicks wearing Abercrombie liked Zelda? t'was an eye opener for me.
anywho, I forgot to add I think I've got the Gears 2 OST on my Zune somewere. one of the songs on it is really good.
Sometimes. I used to listen to game music a lot more, but most of the games I play now have real bands. Guitar Hero, GTA, Tony Hawk, that sort of thing.
But it's been a few years since I've played my favorite game ever, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles (don't judge me), and I still listen to the music all the time.
I also like the Sims 2 soundtrack (and all of it's expansions), and Banjo Kazooie. Ahh, BK... I think BK had the best game soundtrack ever. I still play those tracks on the piano all the time.
I don't listen to game-specific music, but a lot of music in my catalogue by popular (or downloadable, I should say) artists.
Yeah I have Metal Gear Solid 1 theme, Metal Gear Solid 2 theme and Snake Eater theme and Snake Eater ending theme on my iPod :)
This topic has inspired me to go out start downloading Metroid Metal songs :P And the BK soundtrack, and download some midis, to learn for the piano.
All the while, I'm wondering how I'm gonna fit all the new music on my already full MP3 player.
From MGS or street fighter? No. From other games? Yes. Many games have soundtracks and use songs by well known artists these days. Even some old games had great music. I think the 8bit mega man themes and simons quests music was fantastic.
And I'm listening to a song from Kingdom Hearts 2 right now, so yes.
I sure do. Mostly Castlevania, Final Fantasy andrecently Blazblue. I also likeplaying 8/16 bit music, like Sonic's Green Hill zone.
Megaman 2 and Jet Set Radio Future always has awesome music:
Dr Wily 1 - Megaman 2
Technopathetic - JSRF
Oh andd this Rock mix of Gold vs. Red from Pokemon is good too:

The original is my ring tone.
I often listen to old zelda tracks and orchestral scores from elder scrolls series. High quality music is high quality, no matter the source or inspiration. Plus, the particularly moving tunes usually bring back good memories of when I was younger and first played Ocarina of Time, WindWaker, etc. Good times.
yes, I do.
I'm listening to some Super mario All-Stars music as I type, and will probably move to Final Fantasy VIII later.

I gotta say, a massive wave of nostalgia hit me after listening to that song :).
I don't really listen to the songs by themselves, but I learn to play them on piano. Usually from the 32/64 bit era, Donkey Kong Country 2 being my favourite games to learn from.
I cant bring myself to listen to music just to listen to it unless I am generating it on the computer then I listen to it to see if something is wrong with it but other than that I find it extremely difficult to listen to music just to listen to it.
