"Live free or die"?
I do. :)

no, more:
"Everything's going to go wrong, or we'll surely blow our selves up so we might as well just have fun"
and "i am what i am and what i am needs no excuses"
I've never really liked that specific way of putting it because it sounds more like a threat than a creed. :P
"Your money or your life!"
"Live free or die!"

No, and history shows that the slogan is BS.
If a people truly lived by it, then slavery would never have been an issue because slaves would have died (i.e. starving themselves, suicide, etc).
But no...no one, or not enough, live by this slogan to make it worth a damn.
On a side note, I find slogans and sayings to be in the same category as "isms"...theyre just a bad idea.

Liberty slogans played a huge part in the American Revolution:shock:

My thoughts exactly.
I'm going to borrow a line from, of all people, the Merovingian from The Matrix trilogy:
"You see there is only one constant. One universal. It is the only real truth. Causality. Action, reaction. Cause and effect."
Does anyone else think it's ironic that the slogan dictates that we MUST live freely, under punishment of death should we not? :PNinja-Hippo
We CHOOSE to live freely and we believe so strongly in that choice that we will die for it.

Who does? We dont choose to live freely. How are we even free? Unless you live on an island where you can do whatever you want, none of us are free. :?
As for the statement; it says live free or die. So if i want to live whereby somebody always tells me what to do; the slogan people will kill me.
Duh.
No, I prefer "Live Free or DIE HARD"MetroidPrimePwn
And for that you get my respect and +10 internet points.

You're stating an extreme situation of feedom:?
To indirectly quote George Carlin:
New Hampshire has 'live free or die' on their license, and Idaho has 'Famous potatoes'. Somewhere in between 'live free or die', and 'famous potatoes', the truth lies. It's probably a little closer to 'famous potatoes'.
Does anyone else think it's ironic that the slogan dictates that we MUST live freely, under punishment of death should we not? :PNinja-Hippo
Yeah, that was kinda what I'm saying. I much prefer "Give me liberty or give me death"; the way New Hampshire phrases it here just sounds strange.

Oh right. So your saying the slogan is "live free (but not that free) or die".

No, I'm saying what most freedom slogans intend, freedom from opression and free will. You're making this a bit more difficult than what it really is.
[QUOTE="MetroidPrimePwn"]No, I prefer "Live Free or DIE HARD"FlaminDeathI did it first, yet no one saw it

No I'm not, I'm just exposing the true meaning of the slogan.
It doesn't even use free properly in the true sense of the word.
When you say "Live Free or Die" Live Free means: live by the laws of America with the rights of an American citizen. Hardly a universal slogan.
Besides Iraqi's could be shouting the exact same thing right now. "Live Free or Die".
Don't think America has the monopoly on the concept of "Freedom" or the motivation behind the phrase "Live Free or Die".
