Agreed! :P Yeah, I still live in my parents' house, but I'm still only 17. I'll be starting college in the fall (in town) and I'm still not sure if I'll be living at home or in the dorms yet..

I live in my parents house but thats due to me just turning 18. I would like to be out in around a year or two. But I would never live in our basement due to there being mice down there... Plus I would freeze to death in the winter down there.
I actually knew a guy born in 1957 who never moved out of his mom's house, had a railroad job for a while, retired, but lived in the basement and watched a lot of TV and read the newspaper and didn't have much of a life.
When his mom was going to sell the house, she had to kick him out. He got an apartment but thought that nobody liked him, so he hung himself.

Dorms were fun for a month...then not so much. Living at home while attending a university is definitely nice..

Eh...I don't recommend it. It's such a waste of money and gets boring.
I think the point of this thread is that some people never get a job and never move out of their parent's house even when they get to be in their 30's and such, which is sad, but yes, they do exist out there.
well i live in my house with my mom, although my room is on the main floor, but my computer is in the basement... based on that, you could say i live in my mom's basement....
nope, but i have slept in the basement when we have family over. i must say the basement is pretty awesome. its alot cooler than upstairs and we have a futon mattress on top of a futon mattress and its extremely confortable. in the summer i usually sleep in the basement by choice(like now). we even have a big entertainment system with a decent sized tv in the basement. its where all my nintendo systems are so its even better:D plus its alot darker than my room, and i cant sleep unless its really dark.
so if i had to live in my parents basement it wouldnt bother me in the least.
Where did that whole stupid "you live in your mom's basment" thing come from anyway?

sadly real life events in which grown men live in there moms basements and do nothing, big thing back in the 80's and stuff part of that "i don't care" craze I think.
I live in my moms basement, but I have a job, i pay rent to help out momma, groceries and stuff. But my basement is proper. It has a bedroom, a living room, a kitchen, and washroom with a shower and everything. I even bought a mini fridge, i bought a couch, a table, a tv, suround sound, computer and stuff. My mom treats me like a man because i work and help out with the house so she lets me have my part of the house. It aint even nothing if i bring girls and people tru, drink up, smoke up in the basement she dont worry. Wake up sometimes my mom has breakfast waiting for me in the morning eggs, bacon, toast, waffles, tea and a cup of juice/water. Living in my moms basement is pretty good. But if im not working.......my mom will take my car keys from me, no one can come to the house, forget about breakfast, she starts talking about moving in with grandma and foolishness like that. Thats why im working keeping it good for now, live with my mom, save money, get all the stuff I need for when time come to go on my own.
No, well i do live in her house at 21(but thats because its expensive on Long Island) But my girlfriend and me are saving up to buy an apartment this fall.......so yeah i still live under my Mom's roof at this point.
I just started college, and I wasn't allowed to dorm. After seeing the dorms, I think it was probably best that I stay here with my family. :P One common TV, lousy 'net connection, small room with 4 roommates, curfews, no AC, etc. On the plus side, it's cool living on campus since you don't have to get up that early for class.
