Like for security reasons, do you have the paranoia of locking all doors and windows before heading to bed?

I could be living about a hundred miles from the nearest person and I'd STILL make sure the doors were locked before going to sleep.
Well hell yes I do! I'm not one of those fools who believe that bad things only happen to other people.
[QUOTE="lightleggy"]why wouldnt anyone lock their doors? its just foolish not to do it.solidruss
amazing as it is, there are many areas in the country where people just don't lock doors, at least in the states that is.
It's so simple to lock your door, you'd almost have to go out of your way not to lock them.[QUOTE="solidruss"]

It's the same here. I have tons of neighbors that just leave their front door wide open all day and don't ever close their garage doors or anything.[QUOTE="Pirate700"]It's the same here. Just wait until they get robbed, then security is all over the place. :P
And even if they don't get robbed, it's not worth having coyotes running through your house around here. :P[QUOTE="solidruss"]

Exactly. Regardless of where you are, it is never anything but stupid to not lock doors at night, or when you're gone. It's one of those things where, even if you don't feel like there's a real strong reason that you SHOULD, there's never a strong reason that you SHOULDN'T.
The people of Canada disapprove of this thread. Haha.

Lols. I was just talking about this with my roommate the other day, and he was saying there's some places (like in parts of Canada) where everyone is so trusting, and crime rates almost nonexistent, and people just don't lock their doors. I said, "those people are idiots". And he was like, "no they're not, it's just part of the culture where they are". So I called up a guy I know who lives in a neighborhood like that, in Canada, and I said, "dude, do you lock your doors when you're not home, and at night?". He said, "hell yes I do. most of my neighbors don't but they're idiots".
i always lock the doors? and alarm system pirate700 should give me some guns for extra securityJigglyWiggly_
I miss my guns. Had a few back home, but they were all ones that are illegal here in california.

Robbers tend to go for houses without people. Makes things a lot easier. Are we talking about doors to our house, or doors to our rooms?
Front and back door of house is usually always locked. I don't lock my bedroom door (or any rooms in the house), but I do keep it closed (even though my mom fvcked up my door knob, so it doesn't close all the way) to prevent my pets from getting in there, and then being left in there when I close the door later because, they'll just crap in my room, and I never like that lol.
I lock the doors 24/7.

Same. Even if it's broad daylight and I'm home, my doors are locked.
yep.
my dad has always been anal about having the doors locked. now its just become a habit to do so. i do a nightly check when i put one of our dogs in her cage.
