I've been on this site for the last five years. I'm 31 years old.
Gaming is entertainment; as such it takes a back seat to work, spirituality, family and other relationships.
My question: has anyone here thought they "outgrew" Gamespot only to come back to it?
I'm currently not in a relationship...however, I notice that I spend less time on anything gaming related when I'm in a relationship.
I would imagine that getting married would take a big part of me away from the internet (and Gamespot). Having a kid could do the same.
I wonder if Gamespot is kind of like high school? Do you "move on" and come back to see that the other members are all young as you used to be?
Or do we grow old with Gamespot?
Perhaps it's not a question of growth or maturity or aging...perhaps Gamespot just is, and what it means to each person changes over time.
Perhaps I'm part of a generation that still remembers the social stigma attached to gaming...?
Finally, the better question is this: does a person outgrow gaming?
