The internet browser is what I'm going to be using mine for. The browser isn't that great and since it needs wifi its usage is limited. ie I only use mine at home when I can't be bothered to fire up my Mac (which isn't too often!)
Not yet. I'm saving to get a 64GB model (Way overkill for my current music library, but I want this to last me quite awhile :P )...going to take awhile though V.V

The browser is slow as ****, just so you are warned, and even i who have quite thin fingers have trouble navigating it on anything that doesn't have an iphone specific page
If it's just for music, the Zune HD is far better. But if you plan on getting apps/games and watching videos, the iTouch is the better choice. Oh, and you should hold out on getting one until the new models are released later this year. Then you can get one with more features, or a 3rd gen one at a cheaper price.

I have one. Love it - and I use it much more for games/apps than music. Best unintended use is as a FAQ reader, with a neat little app that downloads and stores text and PDF files and keeps my place for each game. Pop it open, search a section, then snap the Touch back into sleep mode and go back to gaming.
I would highly recommend it the iPod Touch because I own one and I love it. If, you have AT&T you should get the iphone because you can have access to the internet on the go and that is always cool.
I have one... it is great. Nice interface... apps... and a note pad... What is wrong with iTunes exactly? I have no problem with it... it is a simple program... drag and drop... what is the issue here? Nothing is over priced.... it is priced at a certain point and that's it. There are reasons for these things. If you are poor... well too bad. Go buy a walkman.

I think typing out anything substantial in size would be a pain in the ass on that thing... Not really.. i used my friends to type a 4 page paper lol.. I can type almost as fast on an itouch as I can on a computer.. around 65 words per minute on itouch and i do about 75 words per minute on computer

for $40 a cheap mp3 player will do all your musical stuff with simple drag and drop, longer battery life, and better durability. I would never bring an iPod to the gym because I would drop it or break it.

Can't argue with any of that, really. I wouldn't own a regular iPod, myself. I think it's sort of telling I use the music function of my iPod Touch less than anything else it's got.
Recently got one from my sister, as she got the iPhone and passed her Touch down to me. I like it, but since I don't really want to pay for apps, music is what it does 99% of the time.
I own an iTouch and love it. It's awesome being able to sit down somewhere on campus when I have downtime and check my email, assignments, post on forums, watch youtube videos, watch normal videos, play games, and more. It's like a handheld computer. Totally worth the pricetag imo.

I have an old iRiver CD/mp3 player lying around, and it still pumps out better sound than any mp3 player I've used since. It's also damn good looking as far as portable CD players go. And it's ridiculously big compared to today's mp3 players, making it a pain to carry around.
I use mine all the time. Just today alone I used it to keep up with my balance for my bank account, did some reading of the Bible on it while on break at work, downloaded a few sermons to eventually listen to, and used it to keep up with my work schedule. Other examples as of late is using as a quick Bible resource on the go (I downloaded a few books from Amazon onto it), keep notes to myself that help me remember various things throughout the day, and last Thursday I had put notes onto it for when I lead my weekly Bible study with my friends. I'm sure not everyone would find as much use for it as I do but it helps make my life a little easier at times.
