Do you prefer being single?

I don't know if I'm the only one that experiences this, but I tend to be much happier in life when I am single.  I know I'm going to get people that say "yea, that's what guys who can't get a girlfriend say", but relationships have always been a miserable experience for me.  I'm by no means an antisocial person, but there are times when I just want to do my own thing and not talk to anyone.  Constantly being hounded to talk to someone at all times is really annoying to me.  There's also the accountability aspect, I'm not a child and I don't feel I should need to tell anyone where I am at all times.  So this brings to me to my simple question:

At the moment, yes. Getting into a (good) relationship requires some work, and I'm not willing to go through that process again as I have other things to worry about.

Single but not by choice. Can't find the right guy at the moment. Most of the guys nowadays just seem like a bunch of immature fools which I have no patience for. Think of going for older guys but they come with a lot baggage like ex wives and kids.

Honestly, at the moment, yes. I've got too much happening in my life at the moment that doesn't need relationship drama thrown in.

I' m single, not on choice. I' d like to be in a relationship as long as I can retain some of my "alone-time" I enjoy having.

I've been divorced since 2002. In a steady 2-year relationship currently, smooth sailing so far. :cool:

The ex and I got married basically because we were awesome in bed. That didn't really help the domestic situation, though: I like to do $hit and keep stuff clean and she was a lazy "let's hire a maid service" couch potato who controlled the sex to get me to do whatever it was she didn't feel like doing.

It was certainly cheaper, but less fulfilling. 

I don't know what not being single is like so I wouldn't know if I prefer it, dunno if that's gonna ever happen though. 

i have never been a relationship and from my single life i can say that i would perfer to have someone to love then to live alone.
