It seems to me that most people I know that are going to vote/support John McCain aren't too crazy about the guy. They see him either as a lesser of two evils or the guy who is the most conservative that has a chance to win. I find it interesting that he is doing so well in the polls despite wishy-washy support from what I have seen. So my question to you guys/gals at OT is do you, or do you know anybody that really strongly supports McCain for reasons other than that he is not Obama or something like that? Do any of you see him as a real strong leader? Do you LOVE (not in a romantic way :P) John McCain?

Personally, I just see him as a lessr of two evils. I think he is a hard guy to get exited about.

I'm voting for him, but I don't love him.:|

Perhaps if he still looked like he did years ago. . . .

No, but I'll be voting for him (McCain), because I don't want the socialist agenda with the most liberal voting record backing him (Obama). I like my 2nd amendment.

I wonder If John McCain owns them. What is the favorite meal of the Republican Party- McCain fries with some Bush beans. That's their plan, eat them Bush beans and blow the Obamists away if you know what I mean.

I don't really have an opinion on him, similar to Obama. I need to figure something out sooner or later though.

He's going to be a weak leader on many issues but at least he's not Obama.

There are very few policies that I think he has 100% right (gun rights, carbon emissions, educations and maybe one more I can't think of right now).

It really stinks (for a lack of a better word aka don't feel like testing the mod's limits on this forum) that for the 2nd year in a row this nation is going to be forced to pick the "lesser of two evils". This is not fun :(

He's not my ideal candidate. I would prefer a libertarian. But I do think he will be a strong leader, and I greatly admire him for being a war hero and a cancer survivor. His actions as a soldier and POW were truly heroic.

Mitt cannot be trusted. That man is shady.

I thought Ron Paul had the most old school conservative principles. I didn't agree with all of his foreign policy, but I did agree with him on about 95% of his other views, like the federal reserve, the economy, and so on. I think he was the most level headed guy running, but the media painted him as a loon. The conservative party was hijacked by neocons and have decided that we can't do without all these government programs, which are only hurting us financially in the long run.

By today's political standards, Ron Paul is a loon. Old right conservatism like Paul's is way outside the mainstream in America these days.

He is one of the worst candidates I have seen come around and I cannot believe people support the man.

Lets just elect a man who not only wishes to continue the war that is detrimental to the country, but he seems to have his eye on Iran and sprinkle on top of that his admittance of having little to no economic knowlege in a time where our country is in a recession and you have a terrible, terrible candidate....

Lesser of two evils.

I think this country should stop listening to the media and start researching candidates in other parties cause I don't think the Republicans and Democrats represent what the American people believe.

Yeah, it's sad. The hilarious part, Bush Jr. won the election by running on a platform like Pauls.

It is the five option limit. I put the best options I could think of to fit those five spots. If there was a sixth, I might've added something like that in.

Bush ran on a very conservative platform. I disagreed with a lot of what he ran on in 2000,but I thought he would at least be a conservative president. How wrong I was. Then again, the revered and worshipped Reagan wasn't a conservative either, so...

His holier-than-thou attitude has started to backfire methinks. I hope it did, because mainstream America tends to dismiss his very liberal and outside the mainstream voting record.

That's because they're hiding. You See Obama and his supporters occasionally have massive rallies that all his supporters flock to, and then they have a game of hide and seek. Obama puts on his PJs and bunny slippers and comes running, "I'm gonna find you, I'm gonna find you". That's better than what Hillary Supporters do though, they go into the Clinton home and try to chase Bill out if him and Hillary get in an argument. And then they fill up the Clinton pool with their tears, wah Hillary lost. As for McCain, his supporters have a great game of Bingo together.

Have you heard the Ludacris song about Obama? It's funny, the campaign denounced it, yet Obama himself didn't. The reason would be because Ludacris has held and funded Obama events.

I liked the McCain of 2000. The problem is, that McCain lost to Bush, and now he thinks that the only way to become president is to follow Bush's path. He's changed his position on almost every position he previously had into one's that he thinks will give him support from the die-hard conservative lockstep voters (sadly the only people that seem to vote these days). Obama is definately the better choice right now.

I think he's an American hero but I'm not a big fan of his. For one, it's hard for me to forgive him calling his wife a word often referring to the female genitalia within earshot of reporters. It's a silly thing to hold against him and it won't affect my vote but I still can't get over it.

Yes and I would like you to try and prove your claim that they are high schoolers.

Seeing as Obamas main supporters are college students it seems resonable to me to infer it would be the same here.

Fine, I'll make a thread sometime this week when OT is more populated. GS is mostly populated by high schoolers, It would make sense that most Obama supporters would be around that age.

If gamespotter are mostly highschoolers then wouldn't that not just reflect on Obama's support but Mccain's as well?

Obama has a much younger audience than McCain. It's scary to know that frat boys are going to be running out to vote Obama '08. /cry

Maybe, but Obama has way more support amongst high schoolers as well, hence the comment.

I seriously doubt frat boys would sober up long enough to vote:lol:

And yes I know Obama's audience is younger, but his main is college students not high school kids which was my MAIN point.

I have also heard of statistics showing Obama supporters on average have a higher education than Mccain but I don't have a link for it I just remember a friend of mine talking about that and posibly showing me the link (my memory SUCKS)....

I like him. I like his policies and I like the fact that he has a sense of humor and is capable of laughing at himself, unlike Barry.
