When you think of a past event involving yourself, do you see it in 1st or 3rd person? For those who see it in third person, don't you find it kind of weird since I'm sure most of those memories you don't see your own body, unless you're standing in front of a mirror, but still we imagine ourselves from 3rd person's point of view or kind of like a camera's view.

For me, I remember all past memories in third person.

I remember stuff in first person, but its like I am however I am currently, if that makes sense. Now when I have "safety meetings" or when i "burn the devils dandelion", I tend to see my memories in third person to a degree. Not like video game third person but I feel like I'm observing it, not reliving it.

After thinking about this.. either way. IT really depends.

I don't think one more than the other.

You'd be surprised. People can dream in the third person, so I don't see why people couldn't remember in the third person.

I remember most memories in a 3rd person, disembodied way, but some I remember in first person.

Edit: Actually when sit here and think back, I don't actually see myself at all. It's not exactly first person, but I'm not visible when I think of things.

This makes me think: If you never saw your reflection or a photo of yourself, would you be capable of thinking in such a way?

I would think so, but you'd have a different face than what you actually have. Like an amalgam of certain facial constructions.

There is also a dissociative disorder that can cause people to "watch" events from "outside of their bodies".

It's kind of wierd because I dream in 3rd person sometimes and as far as memories go.. either I guess. Especially if it's an event from a picture I've seen recently, then it's usually 3rd person-ish...

It depends.

If I'm really reflecting on a particular memory, maybe trying to see it judiciously, trying to see if I can lay blame on something that may have gone wrong, there's a good chance it'll be in 3rd person.

For the vast majority, I suppose 1st person.

Wow, I can't even figure out how I see them. You guys must have some crazy photographic memory. I guess I see things in first person, but it's not like I'm playing an FPS game in my head when I'm remembering something, it feels far more vague than that.

First-person, I think. I never really thought about it before and when I tried to draw a common memory to see which one it was, I suddenly couldn't remember anything vividly... :x

Whats would 2nd person be?
just wondering..

But yeah, I tend to see things that are told to me and that I remember in 3rd person because they dont actually include me like... nvm, but yeah, I think about those things in 3rd person, and my own memories and stuffs in 1st person.
Normal I guess.
