I'm thinking of picking up some DVD's and I've noticed that they're alot cheaper on Amazon.com. Now, I've never actually used one of these websites and I was wondering if they are reliable, secure, fast, and they don't try and scam you.

Yes. Especially when I'm looking for CDs or DVDs that are not being produced anymore. Example? Vapor Transmission by Orgy.

Amazon is the site for me when it comes to buying movies online, not only do they sell them cheap but they help you find other places that sell for even less. Ive gotten a bunch of movies in the last few months through them, all from separate companies and cheap and in perfect shape, even the used DVDs are in good shape.I would recommend Amazon. As for ebay I couldnt tell yeah but Im always sceptical of buying from sellers who arent businesses.

Never really had an issue with Amazon, except once.

I pre-ordered a game and they ran out of stock the day of release, delaying shipment. One email later and I had free overnight shipping.

Amazon is great.

Yeah, a lot. I hate going to the store (especially alone) and it works out really well now since gas is much more expensive.

I use ebay to buy games that are not produced anymore. In fact, I just bought Banjo-Kazooie a few weeks ago for about $8, including S&H.

Great deal. I try to deal as locally as possible when looking for old games though.

I ordered a Neo Geo Pocket Color with 24 games from Amazon awhile back. They got here recently and I love the system. I also got three Game Gear games from eBay this week. Good stuff.

I shop at the first 2 you mentioned.. but never Ebay. I like when google checkout sends me email coupons for Buy.com.. one time I got 2 360 games and a PSP game for like 50 bucks with free shipping. I'm always looking for deals.

Amazon and eBay are pretty good, no experience with Buy.com, though. Amazon's great for CDs.

Ah that's not nice. The only bad experience I've had with all three services is with eBay when some punk sent me a used Lab manual with dozens of pages torn out. "Very Good"
Did you buy the things from the marketplace or from Amazon itself?

I buy stuff on ebay... but only cheap stuff, DVDs, CDs or games mostly.

I got problems on ebay in the pass, and it was something expensive, I lost a lot of money. Don't believe ebay policies telling you paypal protected crap... most peoples don't know that you must fill a dispute in 20 days and turn it in a claim, because if you don't turn your dispute into a claim, you will not touch a damn penny.

So, if the seller told you that he will deal with the problem and you close up your dispute, you are screwed...

Credit Card companies know how things turn on on ebay so they don't resolve your claim anymore, they tell you that when you deal with paypal, the problem is with paypal and the seller and not between you and the credit dard companies.

I've been screwed on ebay 3 times... 3 times that I actually lost my money... and about 5 times with illegal bootlegs copies.

On amazon, when you bought from amazon directly, you are guaranteed to receive your goods and to almost never been screwed.
