Yes and no. When I see graffiti, I usually write on the defaced area, "Stop defacing property, jackass!"

No. Not really. I mean some graffiti can be pretty good, But why not do it on a canvas instead of a building?

No. The owner of a building should choose whether or not the building will be colorful.

You would think that gangster graffiti artists would want to further their artistic careers. I have seen some pretty good graffiti and I don't know why those gangstas wouldn't want to make some doe off their tags, bro.

No, there's a time and place to make art.

There's also never a time and place for 99% of graffiti.

I don't mind graffiti if it's artistic, and good looking.

But I ******* hate it when I see that a local gang has tagged a building, street, or billboard.

Do I support the defacement of private property that costs thousands of dollars in damages? Hell no. Do I support the hiring of graffiti artists to produce murals on private property as a means of deterring vandalism? Yes.

There are two kinds of graffiti. The legal, artistic kind that is produced by artists who are hired to show off their talents... and the illegal, non-artistic kind that is produced by people with too much free time on their hands who are damaging something someone else owns and maintains.

Some of the graffiti I see is so detailed and amazing but the fact that it's defiling someone's property is what I have a problem with. If you're that good at art why not pursue it as a career or hobby?

Generally, vandalism is destructive, so I don't support it. Graffiti is okay, but not for the purpose of vandalism.

No. If people wish to add colour to their own property, that's their prerogative. Defacing someone else's property isn't acceptable.

I love graffiti, man, its such a unique artstyle and really makes those overpasses shine. I would love it if city parks had stone walls dedicated to those dudes who wanna deck it out like that. I don't support it as a crime, though. Its just disrespectful. Vandalism in general makes me want to break somebody's s***.

parkurtommo

uh...it's their property. If they don't WANT their property to be more colorful, then why go around spraying their ****ing buildings with paint?

More to the point...if you really think that you're doing the owners a service (rather than just destroying their ****), then you could approach the building owners and OFFER to spray paint their building with grafitti. And you'd be surprised...some owners will actually be totally cool with that. Some owners will absolutely treat your grafitti art seriously, just so long as you give them the proper respect and ask for their goddamned PERMISSION before you go putting paint all over THEIR property.

So yeah...I'm absolutely fine with grafitti, when the owners of the places that are tagged with grafitti have given their consent to having that grafitti placed on their property. In all other cases, it's merely ruining someone else's ****.

I'm just going to say yes. People get so caught up in ownership, and control they lose track of the important things. I consider vandalism a sort of civil disobedience for the betterment of society.

No.

If they want to be an "artist," then they can do it on paper or a canvas.

No but if its on some crappy run down building that has seen better days I don't see that as offensive if its good art.
