Do you take offense to being referred to as "weird"?

Do you take offense to being referred to as "weird"? I find it almost dehumanizing for some reason.:? I absolutely dislike it.:x It's not like the person referring to me as "weird" defines "normal behavior" if there is such a thing.:roll:

If you've never been referred to as "weird", do you think you would take offense to it or not?

It depends. If I am acting weird at the time for fun and someone says I'm weird I don't mind. But if someone just bluntly tells me I'm weird I take offence.

Depends on who's saying it and how it's spoken.

If someone were to say "You're so weird!" in a playful tone, I can just respond with a casual "heheh, yeah. I know" or something like that.

If someone were to say "You're weird!" or "You're so weird!" in a disgusted tone of voice, I'd take offense to that.

Absolutley not. I can be weird most of the times but I'm mostly normal.

No. It doesn't bother me at all.. Nobody is entirely normal.. everybody has their own odd habits. People would be boring other wise.

Weird is a word i think society has used to mark those who aren't of the same level, in terms of behaviour, as they are. For me weird is just being unique...which all of us SHOULD be. My friends and family call me weird, and I simply enjoy it.

I used to enjoy being called weird. It was like a medal.

Then I got to Middle School.

I still don't mind being called weird, I just don't enjoy it.

Being weird is the best thing ever. But in reality, normal people are weird for calling you weird. Being weird means you are being an individual and not going with what everyone else says. Weird people are willing to go past the silly laws of society to be who they truly are.To all of you so-called "weirdos" out there, I salute you!!

I kind of like it. It makes me feel unique, genuine.

Someone might intend it as an insult, and I simply say "Yea, I know Im weird" and laugh.

In awkward situations, I often say "Oh, sorry, I thought you knew I was kinda weird." and that seems to ease it up.

Theres an old saying that goes something along the lines of "Its hard to hate someone aware of their own faults and shortcomings." Thats sort of the approach I take, but being weird is definately not a fault or shortcoming.

Not really, but it bugs me when a person calls me weird for enjoying books and literature.

My gf usually saysI'm weird... in a jokingly but not really jokingly kind of way haha, but doesn't really bother me I can be a little offbeat at times...

I know I am weird and I accept it. Better weird than boring.

I am incredibly weird, so not at all.

It took me years but I believe I have finally come to a point where I don't seriously care about what people think. I lost that ability in the horrors of puberty, but I have it back.
