Do you think Anti-Americanism will always remain high in North Korea even if it gets reunified with South Korea?

They are intensely brainwashed right now without access to the outside world. Once that changes, then sentiment should change as well.

I believe that if korea is united and stays that way, eventually there will cease to be anti-american sentiment with more and more new generations. For now though, north korea it appears has been led to believe that we are evil and it wont change as soon as they are united. It will take a long time

Ignorance breeds fear, fear breeds hate. This has ALWAYS been the case. Once there is understanding and communication fear and hate tend to go away.

Always is a long time.

So no not ALWAYS.

But for a long time, YES.

It will probably last for at least 2 generations after reunification (the current generation and their children).

The same thing is happening here with the former Soviet Union and the Cold War.

There will always be some, just like there is still negative feelings about Germany in Britain today, it's very faint but it's still there.

Well, I can say this - it's a lot easier to start hating another nation than it is to stop. But to be honest, I'd imagine most people in North Korea are more worried about their own lives than by some nation they've never been to across an ocean. You could ask the same question to many Americans when it comes to France or Iran.

It will takes years and years to counter-act the rampant propaganda that's brainwashed the people.

No, once the brainwashing stops and they can actually use their minds, it won't stay around much longer.

I'm sure in the 40s people didn't think the US and Japan would ever be allies. A lot of things can change in a relatively short period of time.

I was recently in Korea, I just returned no more than a month ago in fact, and I had the greatest opportunity to visit the KMLA - a Korean leadership academy considered the best high school in the country. There I talked to the students who were about my age, and of course bound to be the future politicians and businessmen of the country, and through the course of our discussion the re-occuring theme was that the South had no desire to re-unite with the North. In fact they strongly suggested that they did not want it because of the financial trouble that would imminantly follow. I also had a chance to visit the DMZ, on two occasians actually, at the east and west coast. There I saw, and came to realize that the elderly who still may or may not have family they lost in the North place tributes on the furthest accessible point. This tells me that if they ever do re-unite the government of the North would change and they are the major anti-american forces. The laborors I guarentee would have no objection to the unity because it would provide them, ideally, with a better life. I might upload my video of my trip on the site, if I do I will post a link for you.

Not always. The only reason why the people of North Korea hate us, is because they were brainwashed to by their government. If we can stop the brainwashing, then the Anti-Americanism in North Korea will be greatly reduced.

As long as people have had the capacity for fear ... that's what I meant by always.

So always = as long as humans have been around.
