No I don't find Dane Cook to be at all funny as a stand-up. It's odd as I think he's an atypical funny guy who makes a great guest on a show, but his standup material just isn't funny to me.
He's definately over-rated. He doesn't deserve to fill arenas like he does. I was listening to an NPR and they were talking about stealing jokes, and the example they used was with Dane Cook. You could check it out here:
He can be funny, but generally? No, he isn't. His comedy depends on him hitting a certain mark on each joke and he doesn't have the best of luck in hitting that mark.
I chuckle at a few of his jokes, but overall, I find his jokes boring. It's just a whole bunch of innuendos and pointless swearing. He's still better than Mencia, though.
I kinda did way back when I first heard him, but after a while I got sick of him. Now everytime I hear his material I just get this feeling of "Ok I get it, you like to scream really loud."
The first MANY times I listened to Retaliation, it was hilarious. Years later, not so much. Harmful is only OK, and the new one is the same.
You can find a lot of revealing videos on YouTube about how he has taken jokes from other comics like Louis CK, and how he approaches it hypocritically.

Well, sure, he's better than Mencia, but that's like saying your country has better gun controll than the States. (=
At any rate, he has made me laugh before, but only because of the way he says it. The jokes aren't clever at all.
He can be but in comparison to other standup he doesn't have much. I watched one of his routines and only laughed at one part where he was simulating puking and farting at the same time but that would make me laugh no matter who was doing it.
