I was eating some Taco Bell today and noticed some weird bubbly juice in the taco. Maybe I'm paranoid but I didn't eat it.

But I was wondering, do you think this goes on? I'm sure there are a few punks that spit in the food at fastfood places, especially through the drive thru.

Anyway, does anyone else worry about this sometimes?

There are mean people everywhere so I'd say yes.

Most likely not at a chain unless you were rude to one of the employees though.

i was certain that this was a commonly accepted fact of food service? to assume otherwise would be unwise, methinks.

Yes, but only if you piss them off. The number one rule is never piss off the person who handles your food.

I'm sure you would have to really tic the wrong person off on the wrong day for someone to actually spit in your food.

Yes. But to be honest I really don't want to know.

Another question is; would you have done it if you were pissed at the customer?

I don't think fastfood employees would spit in food that they are selling to the customer, unless the customer was rude. I'm sure even the employees think it is disgusting, but this is only what we want to think I guess. :?

I don't even think they spit if the customer is being rude.. in most fast food places, you can see them cooking your food.
In a Wendy's near me, the kitchen is directly next to the ordering section, with nothing in between so you can watch them cook everything. In Macdonald's, it's a bit harder to see what's going on because there are shelves in the way but it would still be possible to see a wad of spit land on your food.. and then it would be possible to sue. I can't wait til some one spits on my food. :P
Burger king is the only one that worries me.

I work at Dominoes and the whole kitchen is visible to the customers so that never happens. A bigger issue is people not washing their hands properly.

They barely wash the dishes either. Anything too big for the dishwasher is just rinsed under hot water. The food is garbage anyway and it's far too expensive. I'd never recommend Dominoes, unless you want to work there. The pay is good.

Yeah. I usually go with a local pizza place, actually. If not, then Papa John's. I used to work at a Papa John's, and they were very professional. Well, except that we used to have parties after closing. mmmm beer and free pizza until morning. :o

My first job was at Whataburger when I was 16 and I never, ever saw anyone spit into food and I worked there for almost two years.

Although, there was one guest who was outraged at the price of a double meat burger, then he came back through the drive through and said he had no meat on his burger at all(I was on the sandwich board and I KNOW there was meat on there). When I remade his burger, instead of using bun oil before I toasted the hamburger buns, I used jalapeno juice. At least there's a fifty fifty chance he used his old bun, right?

lolz. There was one customer who didn't tip the pizza drivers. Ever. One of the pizza drivers took his order over the phone one day.... and decided to make his pizza themselves. They made the pizza (dough), poured a nice thin film of jalapeno juice all over the dough, covered it with sauce, made the rest of the pizza just perfect. That guy never ordered again.

Was there ever a time when onions were used for vengeance? Once I had a guy demand we remake his burger for the fourth time because it didn't have enough onions...Needless to say on the fourth burger, there was litterally two inches of chopped onions on his burger.

Haha. No. We were a loving establishment, most of the time. I think this instance is the only time they ever took "revenge". There was a guy who really wanted a lot of mushrooms. Needless to say, we gave him a lot. He was happy with it, though.

Yeah, I'm actually pretty sure my onion-mountain didn't have the desired effect because he came back later in the week and I was on a register and he asked me to make his burger.

At any rate, I'm always quite surprised to hear stories of people spitting in food or dropping it on the ground. We were a bunch of teenagers, even our manager was 18, and we were waaay tame. I think the worst common things that happened were chewbacca noises and asking guys driving diesel trucks in drive through, "Please turn off your tank."

What I learned as a fast food employee is that you don't complain about your order or the time it took to get it, or you will find your special sauce more special than usual.

Yeah, he had the leaning tower of onions again. He was all, "No one ever gets it! Ya'll got it!" >.>;

Anyway, after whataburger, I decided I would work in retail and I sill do. In retail I have the most satisfying moments of saying no to rude customers. "I'm sorry ma'am, but you're going to have to stop using that language or I'll call security to escort you out. You can read right there on your receipt where it says we don't take back previously worn shoes."

Then, my next favorite(electronics specialist at Target): "Sir, you can only buy one Wii Fit at a time. Yes, I know it doesn't say how many people are allowed to purchase in our ad, but if you read the back you'll see where it says we have the right to limit the purchase amount. Sir, I won't sell you any if you don't put one back."

Perhaps I'm just spiteful.

My friend worked in fast food all the way through University, and let me assure you.

They DO spit in your food, at best.

But at the same time they do so when you have it coming.

If you come to the cash pissed off, yelling and screaming at the cashier for not knowing how many grams of carbs a Big Mac bun has off the top of her head, you better believe that the worst things you can think of have happend to your food behind that wall.

No, well at least not where I worked. I tempted the one guy to do it, but he just said nah.

However, I did hear about what someone did while they worked at McDonalds. They put something "special" in the milkshakes...:|

one thing I never understood about some ppl is the lack of courtesy and respect they have for the very ppl who are preparing their food. i always treat them with respect and kindness....it lessens the chance of me swallowing a hidden nugy or some other unwanted special ingredient.

that jalepeno juice laden pizza sounds good actually....

People should always be polite anyway, on both sides. I kid you not, being super nice to someone working is addicting. And you know what, they really appreciate it. I respect anyone working those jobs. I used to, and it was more than the job i have now

i am 19, i work at a food place and I tend to get rude customers sometimes but I just kill them with kindness it kinda pisses em off even more haha, I would NEVER put anything in the food thats disgusting and Im sure its illegal, but it does make the day go by smoother when they are respectful to me, Last night was pretty awesome I started alot of converstations and we got a ton of tips!
