do you think fireworks are dumb?

theres a park right infront of my house and ill i hear is BOOM! CRACK! it so annoying. i remember when i thought fireworks were cool... when i was 12.

what are you doing? you just stick it in the ground then you light it up, it goes in the air, makes a tiny explosion then what? how is that entertaining? plus you risk blowing your fingers off just for this useless form of entertainment

I don't think they're amazing but they aren't dumb. Some of the people that use them are though. :P

I think they're dumb unless you use them to blow things up. There's no fun in making them go boom by themselves... just sayin'. :P

Fireworks are good for 4th of July but any other time of the year is annoying.

Ok, funny story. Just this past weekend my friend was holding a firework in his hand when it went off. Now he has bandages covering both his hands.

More on topic, I think domestic fireworks are dumb (ntm WAY overpriced), but massive commercial fireworks are pretty exciting.

The kids that run around lighting tiny baby ones are dumb. The big ones at carnivals, Australia Day, New Years etc. are always awesome.

My own personal take is they are awesome as a kid, and something that definitely sticks out in your mind, and I would recommend that most any kid go see them.

However, as a adult, for the most part, it becomes long, boring, drawn-out, repetitive, and predicable. Hell, I stopped going a couple of years ago. Last several years before that, if not longer, it had become something of a chore. Personally, I rather just stay at home, and watch some Twilight.

I will admit, the grand finale is still pretty cool, but it takes way too God damn long to get that point.

Its never a good idea to let the public buy explosives.

They've got their good and bad points. Big professional displays are pretty cool, but listening to your neighbor shoot off bottle rockets and firecrackers every day for a week before the 4th is really annoying.

I think what's dumb is city's spending tax payers money to set off $250,000+ in fire works off for a 20 minute show. Where maybe 10% of a city actually goes out to watch them. I know it pisses me off, esp. when I'm still driving around in a city and hitting pot holes in my car. I'm not paying taxes to watch sparkly things explode in the sky. I want my roads fixed so I stop doing damage to my car. :evil:

Especially when you shoot bottle rockets at your friends.

Depends how people are using them - if they are used right, then I love fireworks :)

Nope. Dumbness is reserved for non-inanimate objects, like people, or bacteria.....

It's the 5th of November on Saturday so I'm going to see some fireworks then and probably get drunk as well (explosives and alcohol is a great combination)
