Of course we're not the only ones. That's virtually impossible.

I'm not sure, but maybe there are some creatures living outside of the solar system, or even in the solar system.....who knows?

The chances of us being the only ones in the universe is like one in a billion. For every star, there's a chance of life. And we all can only imagine how many stars are out there.

Smartass reply: Of course humans aren't the only ones, haven't you ever seen an animal :P

If there are creatures living in our solar system than we should know that by now.

Well there are creatures called 'Animals' that also live in this universe.

On a more serious note, i do think some other form of life has to be out there on a another planet, whether it's as advanced as us or not.

yes, and i find it fun that most OT posters don't believe in god because there is no concrete proof, but still some will tell you that humans can't be the only ones who live in the universe.

Obviously not. They already found out about another planet with the same atmosphere as us and stuff. We can't be the only planet in the whole universe, with all the solar systems and galaxies we cannot be the only ones.

We arnt the only ones, seeing how scientist say 1 in every 100 planets is like ours, and seeing hows there are billions of plantes out there that could support life, then theres no way we could be the only ones.

Noone is saying that there is definitely life outside of our solar system, just that it is very likely. The big difference, though, is that we already have proof of life - ourselves and all the animals and plants here on earth. All we're saying is that life, which we already know exists, probably exists outside this solar system. You can't say the same about any gods.

Animals are there too, and I think people should look out for bacteria and one-celled organisms in other planets instead of just complex organisms.

That belief is based on chance. Seeing as there's probably trillions and trillions of planets out there, it would be weird if only one of them had developed life.

Well, I think it's possible that there's life outside of this planet. I don't expect we'll ever make meaningful contact with it in any of our lifetimes though.

I mean, even if we found a radio signal from another civilization even if they were in a system closest to our own, it would take more than 8 years to get a response to anything we send them by radio.

The Hubble Ultra Deep Field study found about 10,000 galaxies using a field of view that covered approximately 1/10,000,000 of the sky, and most of those are galaxies.

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/2/2f/Hubble_ultra_deep_field.jpg All of that's in a region of the sky less small enough to be covered by a 1mm x 1mm piece of paper held out an arm's length from your eye.

They are walking among us according to Gordon Cooper. He says he knows someone that was contacted by aliens and that their planets star was destroyed and they needed a new place to live. They told the person to give them basic knowledge about the world and he gave them books to read. The alien had a hard time breathing our air and adjusting to our gravity but eventually got used to it. There are actually more than one and they look like humans so no one can tell the difference. This is according to astronaut Gordon Cooper. I don't believe him

its nearly impossible that are planet is the only one with life forms, there are billions of planets throughout the galaxy (more being made almost daily, maybe faster, i don't quite know). but chances of another sentient race is very un-likely (there is this impressive equation some one did that i can't quite remember but the results say that off of the billions of planets that exist there might be about 15 planets with sentient life) Humans may well be the most advandce form of life in the galaxy, but remeber creative humans (the current predominent species of earth) have only been around for a few thousand years while the galaxy (or the current expanding galaxy, not including the last or any before that, i'm refering to the regenerative cycle of the galaxy in which a big bang launches everything outword and then after trillions of years everything is sucked back in by gravitational forces (one black hole slow eats up everything and keeps getting more massive because it eats more) just to big bang again...) has been around for billions (maybe even trillions, not quite sure, it's something very hard to date), so it is also very likely that if there is another sentient race out in the galaxy they have had much more time to develop than we did... so thats my 2 cents worth (maybe worth a little more than 2 cents but who cares), sry for any spelling or grammactical errors, i don't have the care to read through it again...
