The chances of us being the only ones in the universe is like one in a billion. For every star, there's a chance of life. And we all can only imagine how many stars are out there.
Smartass reply: Of course humans aren't the only ones, haven't you ever seen an animal :P
Well there are creatures called 'Animals' that also live in this universe.
On a more serious note, i do think some other form of life has to be out there on a another planet, whether it's as advanced as us or not.
yes, and i find it fun that most OT posters don't believe in god because there is no concrete proof, but still some will tell you that humans can't be the only ones who live in the universe. chelenitos
Noone is saying that there is definitely life outside of our solar system, just that it is very likely. The big difference, though, is that we already have proof of life - ourselves and all the animals and plants here on earth. All we're saying is that life, which we already know exists, probably exists outside this solar system. You can't say the same about any gods.

That belief is based on chance. Seeing as there's probably trillions and trillions of planets out there, it would be weird if only one of them had developed life.
[QUOTE="Timesplitter14"]I think you know what i meant and answer the question again. ;)Animals, insects, reptiles...
;) read your question
mohan88
ok then answer is no
Well, I think it's possible that there's life outside of this planet. I don't expect we'll ever make meaningful contact with it in any of our lifetimes though.
I mean, even if we found a radio signal from another civilization even if they were in a system closest to our own, it would take more than 8 years to get a response to anything we send them by radio.

The Hubble Ultra Deep Field study found about 10,000 galaxies using a field of view that covered approximately 1/10,000,000 of the sky, and most of those are galaxies.
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/2/2f/Hubble_ultra_deep_field.jpg All of that's in a region of the sky less small enough to be covered by a 1mm x 1mm piece of paper held out an arm's length from your eye.
well, i think humans are the most advanced lifeform in the whole universe.helium_flash
Maybe we are, wouldn't that be a nice title?
[QUOTE="Timesplitter14"]just a question : According to the Bible, is there a possibility that aliens exist?mohan88I don't know, anyway who wrote the bible? it is the people who wrote the bible and can people be wrong? you bet!
But they were enlightened by Jesus... they can't be wrong!
/sarcasm
well, i think humans are the most advanced lifeform in the whole universe.helium_flash
i wouldnt think that. With the possibilty of billions of planets that support life, there no way we are the most advanced.

Who knows? Maybe we're the first :o
Do you think Humans are the only ones who live in the whole universe? do you actually think there is something out there in space that is more powerfull than Humans?mohan88
"Sometimes I think the surest sign that intelligent life exists elsewhere in the universe is that none of it has tried to contect us."
God I love that quote...
In fact... I think I'll put it in my sig.

we could, put i doubt that.
Life can evolve and adaptanywhere, so no, thinkingEarthis theonly planet with life in the universe is just dumb.BobElSnob
yes, who says the planet that life is on has to be like ours.

I know. There always has to be a "first," so why not us? :)They are walking among us according to Gordon Cooper. He says he knows someone that was contacted by aliens and that their planets star was destroyed and they needed a new place to live. They told the person to give them basic knowledge about the world and he gave them books to read. The alien had a hard time breathing our air and adjusting to our gravity but eventually got used to it. There are actually more than one and they look like humans so no one can tell the difference. This is according to astronaut Gordon Cooper. I don't believe himreservoir_doggyGordon Cooper.................................
There HAS to be something else out there.
You cannot tell me out of these billions of planets and universes etc. This is the only planet with life.

I just hope i live long enough to see a new kind of being from another planet. (As long as they dont Conquer or destory me or Earth)
So far, we have not found anything..........................................There HAS to be something else out there.

Actually, yes, yes we have. It's called Gliese 581c.

adn by finding that they say now 1 in every 100 planets is like earth (supports life).
