Do you think it'll be harder to be a successful parent in the future?

I wonder if it will be.

I always think of the people on Youtube acting silly, dancing etc or posting crazy photos on Myspace etc and think that their parents probably have no idea what they are doing and getting up to.

I don't think it will be too much harder, sure there's a new medium for entertainment and such, but in the past hundred years there have been new mediums coming out at least once every 20 years or so.

In some way it will be harder. The internet was still around when I was growing up, but I grew up with newsgroups, BBSes, Archie, not Google, etc. It was a fair bit different. Now that everything has become social there's certainly more room for a child to learn about things - but whether they should be or not is another question. I would much rather my kid not grow up with stuff like Chris Crocker.

I'll move to the Omish country if need be. The stuff I've seen may be more easy to find (not stuff like porn. stuff found on youtube posted etc.) when I'm a father.

Yes, because old parenting techniques are become out dated by technology, music, and this generation's lack of a sense of responsibility.

Not at all, I know what I'm going to parent like, I decided early so I won't forget what it was like to be a teenager/kid. I'm going to be really easygoing until somebody does something totally over the top. Then I'm going to, if i may steal a quote, "put my foot in their ***". My kids will know between right and wrong, so the internet won't have much effect.

What do you define as old parenting techniques?

My son just turned 2 years old the other day and it does kinda scare me to think of the crap he's going to be subject to later, especially when he's a teenager. I'm gonna be strict but fair. My little cousin has been playing games like GTA and Hitman since he was 4 years old! That's not gonna be my son.
