Sure, I hunt all the time and love it. Hunting has been a sport for hundreds of years and I see no problem with it as long as you follow the laws of course.atony12lol killing innocent animals (bullfighting, hunting) for no reason is a sport? Its also sad how popular animal abuse has gotten, first its been considered a "sport", then its been published and sold as videos , and now its in "crush films" in pornography. Soon animal abuse will be all over the place.

Sure! If you think taking the life of something away just for s***s and giggles is something right, more power to you.
If you hunt to eat, alright. If you hunt for kicks, for the pleasure of hunting, go see a doctor.

That's not fair. In this day and age, very few people need to hunt for survival. People that do hunt do it for pleasure just as much as they do it for food, and like I mentioned in my previous post, animals hunted in the wild suffer a lot less (if they even suffer at all!) then animals that are farmed do.Sure! Yeah even though I don't eat meat my self if someone does hunt for food support them 100%. Better than making them live in cages all their lives, and much more natural.Sure! Well I'm going take what you meant by "Hunting for fun" and use that to believe that you're saying killing game for the hell of it and not for the meat. No I think that is wrong. I've been hunting my whole life and it disgusts me to see someone hunting just to kill and leave it there. A good friend and I was heading out to go hunting this one morning, while I was driving down the trail (going slow because we were almost there) there was a doe on the side in the woods, well he pulls his .22 out, rolls down my window and this whole time I'm asking him "you're not going to shoot that doe are you?" well he did, and it took off running injured pretty bad. I was pissed and I told him "You know it's going to run off and just die somewhere." he didn't seem to care so I kicked him out of my truck and made find his own way back to town, and I left.
So killing for fun really upsets me, and it's 100% wrong.
I know you probably didn't want to hear a story but I figured I'd tell it because it just shows how wrong I think it is.
EDIT: Let me edit this because I've read some posts and it seems people are really have a misconception of the meaning "hunting for fun". Where I'm from and just about everyone who knows about hunting, "hunting for fun" pretty much means killing and leaving the meat, same as poaching. Most hunters including me find hunting to be great sport and a way of life where I grew up/where I'm from. You were pretty much born a hunter and a fisherman here. Just because people mount and stuff the heads and consider them trophies still doesn't mean the meat goes to waste...EVER. When you kill for ex: a 10 point buck, you're proud because that's a hard find and if you can't gut it there in the woods then you'll take it home and gut it there and start packaging the meat and then save the head to have it stuffed and mounted at a taxidermist a little later.

And, as I said, "if you hunt to eat, alright". If you're hunting an animal for your own subsistence (you need clothes, materials or food), it's fine -- specially if you're not mass murdering them.

But the people that do hunt for food can in most cases just as easily drive down to the supermarket and buy their meat, so I think it's fair to say that the thrill of the hunt is what motivates most hunters to do what they do. The point I was trying to make was people hunt for the fun of it, even those who also hunt for food. Anyway, if the hunter doesn't kill the animal for the meat, you can be sure some other animal out their will be more than happy to eat it.[QUOTE="TehOverkill"][QUOTE="PernicioEnigma"] That's not fair. An animal who eats another animal did so because he needed to be fed, not because he likes the thrill of the hunt. It's kind of pointless to waste time, effort and money in a hunt that will render no benefit to the hunter other than a sense of accomplishment.
NO, in the name of sport is a shame and your self (anyone dose it) should be put in a ring and hunted them self's. If your going to hunt then Eat it not because you want to feel that u have some balls because you used some gun with your bad self. Why don't you run up and start fighting it and see how far u get.
i do fish time to time but all fish i catched is cooked and not wasted.
Hunting isn't a sport, though most people I hunt with don't get that. Whether you enjoy it or not, there's no competition in it. It'd be a competition if the animal had a rifle as well, so let's get that straight. Hunting can be fun, but rules still apply. I love hunting, I call it fun. Nothing like spending some time outside and feeling that rush. It's obvious that you shouldn't "waste" the animal. That's going on a broken record here. You softies make me chuckle. Man up. I won't explain to you why it's good, because you damn well know. Hunting happens in nature too, believe it or not. EDIT: I read some more posts and this has to be said. No matter what stupid stereotype you have about hunting and hunters, 99% of people who hunt are normal folk who use everything to the bone and have the same feelings as you about people who do waste. The only difference is they actually know hunters, and know that trophy hunting and leaving the meat is extremely uncommon. Seajack
I'm a softie because I've no interest in shooting an animal dead? The things people say...
I'm a big fan of sports. I practiced tennis for nine years, have played and accompanied football since a child and like to watch a match of anything, from Basketball to Rugby, but the thought of tracking down and killing an animal does not appeal to me -- not unless I truly require it to survive.

Is it more acceptable to pay another to kill an animal that you don't truely need to survive? Nearly all westerners eat more meat than is truely necessary to survive, whether the kill it themselves or they buy it from a shop or restaurant.I don't know if it's more acceptable, but it's certainly more convenient to just buy a few pounds of meat at the market instead of heading down to the woods every time I want a piece of steak.
i think you should eat what you kill but tbo i'm kind of a hypocrite here because i catch and release fish and that is stressful to the fish and a few times per year the fish swallows the hook and even though i use hooks that are supposed to dissolve it still can't be that great for them.

So you're against it because you think the hunter could make better use of their time/money? That's very thoughtful of you...Hunting is easily the most fun a person can have. Not to mention, game animals taste a hell of a lot better than farm animals.
People have hunted since humans ahve existed. I say keep the tradition going whether it is for survival or sport. I myself would never go hunting. I like animals to much and would feel bad killing one. I would honestly rather shoot a random person than a deer (not a person i knew though).
Waking up early as **** and sitting in the same spot for hours in the cold really isn't my cup of tea. My brother seems to love it, though.
Hunting for fun is fine, is stops overpopulation of species like deer, its getting people outside to do a legitimite activity. As long as they are not breaking laws it or just shooting something and leaving it there I don't see why not.
I'm suprised to see so many against it, but I guess thats today's soicety for you.
OF COURSE NOT. You should ONLY kill an animal if you are going to eat it.Rod90
All the hunters I know do eat the animals they kill.
As long as it's quick and painless for the animal and the hunter actually uses the meat I see no problem with it. Despite our abundance of guns I don't go hunting, never had the heart to kill a defensless animal, but I know plenty of people who do enjoy it and I have no problem with it.
No. Killing something for fun is a bit twisted. Also using weapons against animals and then making a trophy out of any animal killed is about as pathetic as it gets. I'm ok with hunting for food but hunting for fun and showing off your kill is just sad.xTheExploitedAgreed...
