it's not a waste of time if you're trying to keep in contact with old friends but when you see them everyday or are trying to make new friends then it is pointless

Dude Myspace is so over rated and so girly. It's like the place to go like people who hang out at clubs, cause they think their cool cause they are at the scene. Myspace to me is like all those girls going to the bathroom to go show off their pictures and tell stories. Oh this is me and such and such at such and such party, oh and thats me and R. kelly when i met him. Oh and this is me in my swimsuit ! Like Carlos Mencias says " Whatever ! " Myspace is girly ! That's why I used to have one, then I deleted it because Facebook is what I use so keep in touch with friends I don't see all that often.
I just think it's pointless. If you want to keep in touch with friends, call them, e-mail them, etc. And all it seems to be is basically a profile page where people exaggerate details of their lives. Who really cares?
I wouldn't compare gamespot forums to that. Here, people can actually trade useful information with each other, and discuss interesting topics in a linear, timely manner. And when you get tired of thread surfing, you can always catch up on video game news.

My space is a good place to keep in touch with old friends. It is not a totally waste of time, but I've seen many girl use My Space for gossip and drama. I try to stay away from it as much as possible.

I dont see it as a waste of time if your using it to keep in touch with people. I used to live on that site about 4 years ago now I go on it for 5mins to check my mail.
It depends on what you use it for. If you use it to post stupid pics of your drinking parties and/or the inevitable shirtless mirror shots, then yes it's a waste. If you use it to keep in touch with old friends and music, then it's a great site.
Yeah, it can be a huge waste of time seeing as how people get addicted to that place. It's a good place to find old friends but after that you can always arrange to meet or call them up. But really, that place, as much as this and other places on the internet, are pretty much a waste of time since they can take away from other things that people could be doing that are actually beneficial. Posting on here or anywhere else isn't going to pay the bills, and it certainly isn't going to mean anything in the grand scheme of things, but some people use it as way to escape some of the everyday things in life that they'd rather not be dealing with at that moment. That doesn't apply to everyone, but some just don't know how to let it go and do something constructive with their time.

TALKING to your friends is a lot different to spending hours of time sending out sparkley gifs that say things like "Oh no it's Monday", 'have a fun Friday', "I love you thiSSSSSSSSSSSS much".
The whole is mostly a populaurity contest for insecure people to stroke their egos and 'prove' to themselves that they do have friends, even if they only exist online.
I live in Canada and Facebook seems to be the most popular social site here. But anyways, no I don't find Facebook or Myspace a waste of time, rather I find it a waste that people awaste too much time on Facebook. Seriously, I've seen people socialize more in Facebook/Myspace than they do in real life. That's pretty much my only problem, I don't mind it but I certainly don't find it useful, if people really wanted to how my day was they can ask me not expect me to write it that's why they can read it in a blog. Well, that and I am afraid that people might stalk me so I don't have a account for either Facebook or Myspace.

you sir, seem like the one who needs more friends and is trying to atc like a rebel. I use it to tlask to my friends from other townswho i cant see or who arent in my classes at school and stuff. They exist in real life as well, you see.

Its all a bunch of people who lack any form of interesting or appealing aspects in real life so they juice up their E-self and hide behind the lies behind the anonymity of the internet.
